The present patent application improves DARP by allowing multiple users on one time slot (MUROS). It comprises means and instructions for sharing signals on a single channel, comprising setting up a new connection, allocating a new time slot if there is an unused time slot on a channel frequency, selecting an used time slot for the new connection to share with an existing connection if there is not an unused time slot on the channel frequency, and selecting a different training sequence code for the new connection if the used time slot on the channel frequency has been selected for the new connection to share with an existing connection.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, apparatuses, and devices are described for managing wireless communication at a user equipment (UE). An exemplary method includes adding an identifier of a cell to a sub-optimal cell list based at least in part on a cell classification determination made by the UE, and avoiding a cell access procedure for the cell based at least in part on inclusion of the identifier in the sub-optimal cell list. Another exemplary method includes maintaining a sub-optimal cell list and an associated priority service exception list, initiating a service on the priority service exception list, identifying inclusion of a cell on the sub-optimal cell list, where the cell is associated with a cell access procedure initiated for the service, and accessing the cell included in the sub-optimal cell list based at least in part on inclusion of the service in the priority service exception list.
Abstract:
Methods and devices for scheduling data packet transmissions on a multi-subscriber identity module (SIM) wireless communication device having at least a first SIM and a virtual SIM (VSIM) application associated with a shared radio frequency (RF) resource may include detecting registration of a SIM profile for the VSIM application, in which the VSIM application is provisioned to operate as a VSIM, and determining whether a VSIM management procedure is required for the VSIM. When a VSIM management procedure is required for the VSIM, the wireless communication device may tag data packets associated with the required VSIM management procedure, select a prioritization policy for data packet transmissions on the RF resource, and apply the selected prioritization policy within a transmission queue on the RF resource.

Aspects of the present disclosure relate to a user equipment (UE) and a method of wireless communication using the UE that includes a first transceiver and a second transceiver. The method includes determining that the first transceiver is scheduled to communicate using a first transmission simultaneous to the second transceiver being scheduled to communicate using a second transmission, and altering an operation of at least one of the first and second transceivers to mitigate battery voltage droop due to simultaneous transmissions of the transceivers. Abstract:
Apparatus and methods are disclosed to provide for a multi-SIM wireless user equipment configured for block-level, or slot-level tune-away operations enabling simultaneous communication with a plurality of channels. The first and second channels may correspond to different RANs, each of which the user equipment may subscribe to as corresponding to information in a plurality of SIMs at the user equipment. In other examples, the first and second channels may correspond to different cells within a single RAN. In either case, the tune-away operations disclosed provide for reduced data loss at the first channel and in some examples improved communication performance at the second channel. Exemplary embodiments are directed to operation of a device supporting multiple SIMs. A method may include detecting a paging collision scenario between a first subscription and at least a second subscription. The method may further include modifying a page reading operation of at least one of the first subscription and the at least a second subscription to avoid a paging collision between the first subscription and the at least a second subscription. Abstract:
Apparatus and methods are disclosed to provide for a multi-SIM wireless user equipment configured for discontinuous reception (DRX) utilizing two or more subscriptions, which may be in different radio access technologies. The user equipment is configured to originate a call using one subscription, to the same user equipment over another subscription. During the duration of a blanking window, statistics corresponding to repetitions of incoming page messages are recorded and analyzed to determine repetition behavior by the network of page messages. In this way, monitoring of the paging channel can be done during fewer than all DRX cycles, combating possible collisions between DRX cycles on different radio access technologies, and enabling reduced power consumption. Abstract:
The various embodiments include methods for managing how a MSMS communication device that is accessing an arbitrary combination of multiple telephony networks processes paging collisions. The embodiment methods promote improving a subscription's page blocking rate by causing a MSMS communication device to implement a retransmission remedial action for a blocked subscription. In the various embodiments, the MSMS communication device may implement the retransmission remedial action by increasing a blocked subscription's priority during a subsequent retransmission interval to increase the likelihood that the blocked subscription will receive a repeated page message from its mobile network during this retransmission interval. In some embodiments, the blocked subscription's current priority may be based on the number of retransmission intervals that are presently occurring.
