    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. According to one or more aspects, the described apparatus includes one or more stacks of patch radiators (such as patch antennas) comprising at least a first patch radiator and a second patch radiator. The first patch radiator is associated with a low-band frequency; the second patch radiator is associated with a high-band frequency. The first patch radiator and the second patch radiator may overlap a ground plane, which may be asymmetric. Some or all patch radiators in a stack may be rotated relative to the ground plane, such that some or all edge of a patch radiator may be nonparallel with one or more edges of the ground plane. Further, each patch radiator stack may include separate feeds for each of at least two frequencies and two polarizations, and thus at least four feeds (one for each frequency/polarization combination) in total.

    Abstract: A method of sending and receiving dual-polarization, millimeter-wave signals to and from a mobile device having a top surface, a bottom surface, and an edge surface, includes: radiating energy, in a millimeter-wave frequency band, from a first radiator outwardly from the edge surface with a first polarization; receiving, via the first radiator, energy in the millimeter-wave frequency band with the first polarization; radiating energy, in the millimeter-wave frequency band, from a second radiator outwardly from the edge surface with a second polarization substantially perpendicular to the first polarization, the second radiator being disposed between the first radiator and the top surface or the bottom surface, or a combination thereof; and receiving, via the second radiator, energy in the millimeter-wave frequency band with the second polarization.

    Abstract: A device includes at least a first and a second antenna array module. The first antenna array module serves a first frequency band, the first antenna array module having a first antenna array surface that is substantially perpendicular to a first boresight and oriented substantially parallel to a first surface of the device adjacent to the first antenna array module, the second antenna array module serves a second frequency band, the second antenna array module having a second antenna array surface that is substantially perpendicular to a second boresight and oriented at an angle relative to a second surface of the wireless communication device adjacent to the second antenna array module, and the device transmits an indication of a set of transmission configuration indicator (TCI) states for use in the first frequency band and the second frequency band, the set of TCI states being selected based on the angle.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. In some systems, a user equipment (UE) may receive a control message indicating a reference signal configuration for beam calibration by the UE based on a beamforming characterization status. The UE may receive a set of beam calibration reference signals based on the reference signal configuration. The UE may measure the set of beam calibration reference signals and generate a set of beamforming weights for use in communications by the UE based on the measuring and the beamforming characterization status. In some cases, the UE may transmit or forward a beamforming codebook based on the beamforming weights to a network entity. The network entity or the UE may forward the beamforming codebook to other UEs of a same design class as the UE.
