    Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may generate a report for one or more two-step random access channel (RACH) procedures between the UE and a base station (BS), wherein the RACH report includes at least one of an indication of a quantity of message A (MsgA) payloads transmitted during the one or more two-step RACH procedures on each beam of one or more beams associated with the BS, an indication of one or more parameters associated with each MsgA communication transmitted during the one or more two-step RACH procedures, or an indication of whether a respective signal strength for each beam, associated with the one or more two-step RACH procedures, satisfies a signal strength threshold. The UE may transmit the report to the BS. Numerous other aspects are provided.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may be configured to operate in a control mode. In some cases, the control mode may be an in active mode (e.g., a radio resource control (RRC) inactive mode). The UE may be configured to receive a control message from a network node. In some cases, the control message may include an uplink grant associated with a duration. The duration may relate to a timer, such as an expiration timer, for example. The UE may transmit an uplink transmission to the network node while operating in the control mode. The uplink transmission may be in accordance with the uplink grant and the duration. In some cases, prior to transmitting the uplink transmission, the UE may multiplex the uplink transmission with a second control message including an indication for the UE to remain in the control mode.

    Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for an on-demand measurement gap for inter-frequency radio resource management (RRM) measurements. A method for wireless communications by a base station (BS) includes configuring a user equipment (UE) in the serving cell for measurement of target cell (s) and with an on-demand measurement gap configuration for measuring the target cell (s). Neighbor cells in a same frequency can coordinate to align synchronization signal block (SSB) or channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS) transmission and provide timing information of the aligned SSB or CSI-RS transmission to a cell in a different frequency. A method by a UE includes receiving an on-demand measurement gap configuration from a serving cell co and measuring target cell (s) based on the measurement gap configuration.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) measure and report cell measurements for neighboring cells to assist the wireless network with handover decisions. In some cases, the UE may be configured to report beam-level measurements for just a subset of neighboring cells instead of each neighboring cell. For example, the UE may measure, or report beam measurements for a subset of the neighboring cells which meet configured criteria or are included in a subset of cells configured by the serving cell. Techniques for configuring and maintaining the subset of cells are described herein. For example, the cells in the subset may be configured by the UE or the serving cell of UE. A cell may also be removed from the subset if the cell does not continue to meet criteria for being included in the subset.

A RAN receives release assistance information from a user equipment or a User Plane Function (UPF) involved in an active session with the user equipment. The release assistance information may be received over a control plane or over a user plane. The release assistance information may be received from the user equipment or the UPF over the user plane or as Radio Resource Control (RRC) signaling. The release assistance information may be received from an application function via the UPF. The RAN determines to release the user equipment based on the release assistance information.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for efficiently collecting and reporting minimization of drive test (MDT) measurements for one or more radio access technology (RAT) types and/or for multiple base stations in a dual connectivity deployment. In one example, a user equipment (UE) may receive an MDT measurement configuration indicating a first RAT type for collecting measurements and a second RAT type for reporting measurements. In this example, the UE may use the measurement configuration to collect MDT measurements for the first RAT type, and the UE may report the MDT measurements to a base station associated with the second RAT. Further techniques for efficiently collecting and reporting MDT measurements in a dual connectivity deployment are also described herein.
