Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to methods and apparatus for enhancing location reporting procedures to include height information of a user equipment (UE), such as an aerial UE. The location reporting procedures may be between a core network entity and an access network entity. Due to the differences in coverage regions between areal cells and terrestrial cells, aerial UEs may not fully rely on cell identifiers (IDs) as a primary location indicator due to its ambiguity (e.g., as the aerial UEs may use a side-lobe or up-tilted beam of a far-away cell that provides a cell ID while its conventional geographical location belongs to another, closer cell). Aspects of the present disclosure provides techniques for enhancing the location reporting procedures for the aerial UEs to prevent such potential errors in location reporting.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus for enabling multi-TRP transmission in non terrestrial networks. In one aspect, a user equipment receives a first reference signal from a first satellite transmission reception point (TRP) at a first timing and receives a second reference signal from a second satellite TRP at a second timing. The first timing is synchronized with the second timing at a first geographic location. The user equipment receives a third reference signal from the first satellite TRP at a third timing and receives a fourth reference signal from the second satellite TRP at a fourth timing. The third timing and the fourth timing are synchronized at the user equipment. The user equipment receives an indication of a timing offset of the fourth reference signal with respect to the second reference signal and uses the third and fourth reference signals as a quasi colocation (QCL) source.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A non-terrestrial network (NTN) cell may transmit a pre-paging message for which a user equipment (UE) may monitor based on a synchronization signal block (SSB) and a pre-paging configuration. For example, the UE may be configured with a pre-paging configuration for one or more NTN cells that may be used to identify an SS and a CORESET in which to monitor for a pre-paging message. The UE may identify the pre-paging configuration for a specific NTN cell based on a cell identifier for the NTN cell identified based on decoding an SSB from the NTN cell. The UE may identify the CORESET and the SS based on the pre-paging configuration and the resource via which the SSB was received. Thus a UE may receive a pre-paging message from an NTN based on receiving and decoding an SSB in low SINR scenarios.

Abstract: In some implementations, a location server may in a positioning session with a user equipment (UE): determine to provide the UE with assistance data regarding at least one NTN Next Generation Radio Access Network (NG-RAN) node; and send assistance data to the UE. The assistance data may comprise, with respect to the at least one NTN NG-RAN node: a beam footprint corresponding to one or more reference signals transmitted by the NTN NG-RAN node, a time and frequency offset corresponding to one or more reference signals transmitted by the NTN NG-RAN node, ephemeris information, polarization information, Doppler range information, or delay and Doppler information of a link between the at least one NTN NG-RAN node and a reference point, or a combination thereof.
