Abstract:
Various embodiments provide methods, devices, and non-transitory processor-readable storage media for avoiding coexistence interference between radio access technologies (RATs) operating on a multi-active communication device. Various embodiments provide methods, devices, and non-transitory processor-readable storage media to leverage an ability of a multi-active communication device to manage two RATs and/or subscriptions to protect on-demand traffic service performance, such as Multimedia Messaging Service (“MMS”) service performance, when inter-RAT coexistence interference is occurring, or is likely to occur, between an on-demand traffic service, such as a MMS service, and a data service. In some embodiments, an on-demand traffic service may be a bursty on-demand traffic service.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus of monitoring cells in a wireless communication system may include determining existence of a condition for performing a cell search on a frequency. In addition, the methods and apparatus may include calculating an undetected energy-related value for a hypothetical undetected cell based on a measured energy-related value of each detected cell on the frequency in response to determining the condition for performing the cell search. The methods and apparatus may further include determining whether to perform the cell search based on the undetected energy-related value and a reselection criteria.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus of controlling user equipment transmit power in a wireless communication system include communicating with a first base station and a second base station. Further, the methods and apparatus include establishing a high speed channel with one of the first base station or the second base station, wherein the one of the first base station or the second base station defines a high speed serving cell and a remaining one of the first base station or the second base station defines a non-high speed cell. Additionally, the methods and apparatus include ignoring a transmit power control command from the non-high speed cell when a high speed power control state applies to controlling a transmit power level.

Abstract:
Certain aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment may determine a predicted tune-away for a set of voice frames. In some aspects, the user equipment may alter a vocoder rate from a first vocoder rate to a second vocoder rate that is less than the first vocoder rate based at least in part on determining the predicted tune-away for the set of voice frames. In some aspects, the user equipment may drop, in connection with an occurrence of the predicted tune-away, a subset of packets for a time period corresponding to the predicted tune-away. Numerous other aspects are provided.
Abstract:
Various embodiments include methods implemented on a mobile communication device for sharing network information among subscriptions when a first subscription is in a data communication session and a second subscription is in an idle mode. The methods may include determining whether the first subscription and the second subscription share a network operator and are camped on a same base station. If so, the first subscription may receive network information from the base station and store the network information in a shared memory of the mobile communication device that can be accessed by the second subscription. The second subscription may then perform some idle mode operations using the network information stored in the shared memory.
Abstract:
Systems, methods, apparatuses, and media are provided for downlink power control. Embodiments include determination that a portion of a frame to be transmitted in a downlink from a base station to a user equipment (UE) may be lost by the UE. Embodiments further include determination that a portion of the frame will be received by the UE. Embodiments further include causing a transmit power of the base station to be increased for the portion of the frame that will be received.

Abstract:
Various embodiments include methods, systems, and devices for tuning away a mobile device's receiver without retuning the mobile device's transmitter, thereby allowing the mobile device to monitor multiple networks with a single radio frequency (RF) chain while avoiding the problems often associated with tune-away methods, such as loss of throughput, loss of tracking or synchronization, delays in acknowledgments, delays in rate control or channel quality control feedback, etc. The transmitter may remain tuned to a first network while the receiver may be separately tuned to one or more other networks. In various embodiments, the separately tuned receiver may monitor for paging signals on one or more networks while the transmitter remains tuned to the first network and transmits data or control signals.
Abstract:
The various embodiments include methods for managing how a MSMS communication device that is accessing an arbitrary combination of multiple telephony networks processes paging collisions. The embodiment methods promote improving a subscription's page blocking rate by causing a MSMS communication device to implement a retransmission remedial action for a blocked subscription. In the various embodiments, the MSMS communication device may implement the retransmission remedial action by increasing a blocked subscription's priority during a subsequent retransmission interval to increase the likelihood that the blocked subscription will receive a repeated page message from its mobile network during this retransmission interval. In some embodiments, the blocked subscription's current priority may be based on the number of retransmission intervals that are presently occurring.
