Abstract: Computing readable media, apparatuses, and methods for signaling for uplink sounding are disclosed. An apparatus is disclosed comprising processing circuitry. The processing circuitry may be configured to: decode a trigger frame comprising a resource unit (RU) allocation, and a spatial stream (SS) allocation for the first wireless device to transmit an uplink (UL) sounding signal, where the trigger frame include an indication that the trigger frame is for the UL sounding signal. The processing circuitry may be further configured to: determine a path loss based on the indication of the transmit power and a received power of the trigger frame at the first wireless device. The processing circuitry may be configured to: determine a transmit power for the UL sounding signal based on the path loss, and transmit the UL sounding signal in accordance with the RU allocation, the SS allocation, and the transmit power.

Abstract: Embodiments of user equipment (UE) and methods for codebook subsampling for enhanced 4TX codebooks in 3GPP LTE wireless networks are generally described herein. In some embodiments, a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) is configured for transmission of channel state information (CSI) feedback including a rank indicator (RI) and a precoding matrix (W1). The rank indicator (RI) and a precoding matrix (W1) are jointly encoded and codebook subsampling is performed for the enhanced 4Tx codebook for at least one of: PUCCH report type 5 (RI/1st PMI) in PUCCH 1-1 submode 1; PUCCH report type 2c (CQI/1st PMI/2nd PMI) in PUCCH 1-1 submode 2; and PUCCH report type 1a (subband CQI/2nd PMI) in PUCCH 2-1.

Abstract: This disclosure describes systems, methods, and devices related to using enhanced high efficiency (HE) frames. A device may determine a high efficiency signal-B (HE-SIG-B) field for a high efficiency (HE) frame, the HE-SIG-B field comprising a common information field and a user information field. The device may determine a data portion of the HE frame, wherein the data portion includes one or more resource units (RUs) with a size equal to a number of tones. The device may determine a first resource allocation subfield and a second resource allocation subfield of the common information field based at least in part on the number of tones. The device may cause to send the HE frame.

Abstract: Techniques are described for compressing the PUCCH resources reserved for acknowledging downlink data transmissions when those resources are implicitly signaled by EPDCCHs that schedule the downlink transmissions in TDD mode. An acknowledgment resource offset field transmitted in the EPDCCH is configured to correspond to one or more values that compress the region in PUCCH resource index space that would otherwise be reserved for the subframes of a bundling window.

The circuitry may be configured to: receive a L-SIG field; receive a R-L-SIG field; and determine whether the R-L-SIG field is a repeat of the L-SIG field with piggybacked information.

Abstract: Uplink requests for bandwidth and/or other types of communication resources are provided. In some embodiments, a communication device can access a mapping between quality of service (QoS) metrics and communication resources.
