    Abstract: Antenna structures and methods of operating the same are described. One apparatus includes a processing device that executes an active interference cancellation (AIC) algorithm and radio frequency front-end (RFFE) circuitry coupled to the processing device. The RFFE circuitry includes two RF couplers, and a programmable-delay filter and a vector modulator disposed along electrical path. The AIC algorithm is operable to control the programmable-delay filter to match a delay of the electrical path to a propagation delay in an antenna path. The AIC algorithm is operable to control the vector modulator to adjust a phase, an amplitude or both of a copy of a first RF signal transmitted via the first antenna to generate a second RF signal. The second RF signal is added to a third RF signal via the second RF coupler to remove from the third RF signal interference caused by the first RF signal.

    Abstract: Technologies directed to sectorized analog beam searching are described. One method includes a first wireless device receiving a first destination address of a second wireless device, a first angle value corresponding to a first direction, and a second angle value corresponding to a second direction. The first wireless device generates a first signal beam transmitted in the first direction and spanning a first geographic region and receives an RSSI value corresponding to the first signal beam. The first wireless generates a second signal beam transmitted in the second direction and spanning a second geographic region and receives a second RSSI value corresponding to the second signal beam. The first wireless device determines that the first RSSI value is greater than the second RSSI value. The first wireless device determines, using a third signal beam a third angle value corresponding to a third direction located within the first geographic region.

    Abstract: Antenna structures and methods of operating the same of an electronic device are described. One apparatus includes a first radio frequency (RF) feed, a second RF feed and an antenna structure. The antenna structure includes a ground plane, a first antenna element coupled to the first RF feed, a second antenna element coupled to the second RF feed and coupled to the ground plane at a first grounding point located at a distal end of the second antenna element. The first antenna element operates as a first directly-fed element and the second antenna element operates as a first parasitic ground element when RF signals in a first frequency range are applied to the first RF feed. The second antenna element operates as a second directly-fed element when RF signals in a second frequency range are applied to the second RF feed, the second frequency range being higher than the first frequency range. The first antenna element is grounded by the RF short circuit when the RF signals in the second frequency range are applied to the second RF feed.

A dual-feed antenna includes a first antenna element coupled to a controllable circuit that is coupled a first radio frequency (RF) feed, and a second antenna element coupled to a second RF feed. The controllable circuit is configured to electrically connect the first antenna element to the first RF feed in a first antenna configuration and to electrically connect the first antenna element to ground in a second antenna configuration. During the second antenna configuration, the second antenna element is driven by the second RF feed.

    Abstract: Technologies directed to a control circuit using dynamic signal compression are described. A control circuit includes a front-end module (FEM) coupled to an RF cable, the FEM having a low-noise amplifier (LNA). The control circuit further includes an automatic gain control (AGC) circuitry coupled to the FEM. The AGC circuitry receives a first radio frequency (RF) signal having a first portion of one or more symbols and a second portion of one or more symbols. The AGC circuitry further amplifies the first portion to generate a first portion of an output signal. The AGC circuitry further compresses the second portion to obtain a second portion of the output signal. The AGC circuitry further sends a control signal to cause the FEM to change a gain state value of the LNA from a first value to a second value based on a comparison between a voltage of the output signal and a reference voltage.
