    摘要: A substantially light-insensitive black and white thermographic material comprising a support and a thermosensitive element containing a substantially light-insensitive organic silver salt, a reducing agent therefor in thermal working relationship therewith and a binder, wherein the binder is a water-dispersible film-forming polymer having covalently bonded ionic groups and the thermographic material is thermally developable under substantially water-free conditions; and a process for producing the substantially light-insensitive black and white thermographic material comprising the steps of: producing an aqueous dispersion of the substantially light-insensitive organic silver salt; producing one or more aqueous coating compositions containing together the aqueous dispersion of the substantially light-insensitive organic silver salt, the reducing agent and the binder; and applying the one or more aqueous coating compositions to the support, thereby forming after drying the thermosensitive element.

    摘要: A substantially light-insensitive monosheet thermographic recording material comprising a support and on one side of the support a thermosensitive element, the thermosensitive element comprising at least one substantially light-insensitive silver salt of a carboxylic acid, at least one reducing agent therefor in thermal working relationship therewith and at least one binder, the at least one binder comprising at least one first polymer consisting of vinyl aceto-acetal monomer units and optionally monomer units selected from the group consisting of vinyl alcohol, vinyl acetate and itaconic acid monomer units, wherein the weight ratio of the at least one binder to the light-insensitive silver salt(s) of a carboxylic acid in the thermosensitive element is greater than 1.6; and the at least one binder optionally contains less than 40% by weight of a second polymer consisting of vinyl butyral monomer units and optionally vinyl alcohol and/or vinyl acetate monomer units.

    摘要: A heat-sensitive lithographic printing plate precursor is disclosed which comprises a hydrophilic support and an oleophilic coating thereon which comprises an infrared light-to-heat converter, an alkali-soluble binder and a polymeric developer accelerator. The polymeric developer accelerator is preferably a phenolic formaldehyde resin comprising at least 70 mol % of meta-cresol as recurring unit or at least 40 mol % of monohydroxy benzene cresol as recurring unit. The PDA may also be a phenolic resin which comprises at least 5 mol % of a recurring monomeric unit having at least one phenolic hydroxyl group and at least one alkali solubilising group. The polymeric developer accelerator improves the sensitivity while maintaining a good under-exposure latitude and a good developer resistance of the printing plate.

    摘要: A method for making a heat-sensitive negative-working lithographic printing plate precursor is disclosed comprising the steps of (i) preparing a coating solution comprising hydrophobic thermoplastic polymer particles and a hydrophilic binder; (ii) applying said coating solution on a support having a hydrophilic surface or which is provided with a hydrophilic layer, thereby obtaining an image-recording layer; (iii) drying said image-recording layer; characterized in that said hydrophobic thermoplastic polymer particles have an average particle size in the range from 45 nm to 63 nm, and that the amount of said hydrophobic thermoplastic polymer particles in the image-recording layer is at least 70% by weight relative to the dried image-recording layer.

    摘要: A printing system making use of a lithographic printing plate has been disclosed, the system comprising the steps of image-wise exposing to infrared light a heat sensitive imaging element, the element being optionally present on the printing press before starting the image-wise exposing step to infrared light, wherein the element comprises, on a lithographic base with a hydrophilic surface thereupon, an image-forming layer including hydrophobic thermoplastic polymer particles and a hydrophilic polymer binder, and, optionally, an infrared absorbing compound, wherein the hydrophobic polymer particles contain more than 0.1 wt % of nitrogen and have an average particle size diameter in the range from 0.015 to 0.150 &mgr;m; developing the image-wise exposed imaging element by mounting it on a print cylinder of a printing press and applying an aqueous dampening liquid ink to the imaging element while rotating the print cylinder; providing a printing run length of the press, increased with a factor of at least 5, when reducing the average particle size diameter of the hydrophobic polymer particles in an amount of more than 25%.
