Abstract: A system and method for providing at least one search result responsive to receiving a search query comprising at least one search query term, includes receiving the search query; locating at least one record containing at least one search query term; displaying a text representation of each of the records containing at least one search query term; and displaying a representation of an object in relation with the text representation for each record that includes an object comprising at least one predetermined attribute. According to another embodiment of the invention, a method for indexing records in an index of an information network, includes the acts of: receiving a record; searching the record for an indication that an object comprising at least one specified attribute is to be displayed with the record; finding the indication; creating a representation of the object; storing the representation in association with the record to which it corresponds; and making an entry for the record in the index, said entry indicating the object to be displayed with the record.

Abstract: A method for online advertising includes: receiving a request for a content stream from a client device; embedding an advertisement in the content stream, and transmitting the content stream to the client device; determining a scroll dwell time of the advertisement when the content stream is presented on the client device; determining a level of performance of a guaranteed presentation amount associated with the advertisement, the level of performance based on the scroll dwell time of the advertisement. In another embodiment, candidate advertisements are identified for presentation in the content stream; for each candidate, an expected cost per time unit (eCPTU) of exposure is determined; one of the candidate advertisements is selected for inclusion in the content stream based on the eCPTU's; the content stream is transmitted to the client device.

Abstract: Method, system, and programs for providing enhanced search term suggestions. A set of incomplete search terms indicating a sequence of search terms entered may be received. It may be detected that the sequence contains a descending phase followed by an ascending phase. In response to the detection, a pair of misinput term and corresponding corrected term may be identified in the set of incomplete search terms. A probability with respect to the misinput term is a misinput of the corresponding corrected term may be determined based on a historical context. Using such a probability, an incomplete search term containing the misinput term may be corrected. One or more proposed search terms may be determined based on the corrected incomplete search term for suggestion to the user.

Abstract: Many applications may display information through lists. For example, an email application may display a current visual interface comprising a list of emails. A gesture input may be received for an item within the item list. Responsive to receiving the gesture input, the item may be selected. In an example, the item list may be transitioned into an editing mode based upon the gesture input. While in the editing mode, context indicators (e.g., indicating whether an email item has been read or is unread) may be modified (e.g., shrunk) and/or selection indicators may be displayed for items within the item list. A selection indicator may be selected to select a corresponding item. In this way, gesture input (e.g., single gesture) may be used to select items and/or to transition the item list into the editing mode without transitioning away from the item list.

Abstract: As provided herein, a domain model, corresponding to a domain of an image, may be merged with a pre-trained fundamental model to generate a trained fundamental model. The trained fundamental model may comprise a feature description of the image converted into a binary code. Responsive to a user submitting a search query, a coarse image search may be performed, using a search query binary code derived from the search query, to identify a candidate group, comprising one or more images, having binary codes corresponding to the search query binary code. A fine image search may be performed on the candidate group utilizing a search query feature description derived from the search query. The fine image search may be used to rank images within the candidate group based upon a similarity between the search query feature description and feature descriptions of the one or more images within the candidate group.
