In some aspects, a first node may transmit, to a second node, a first message providing a first indication of integrated access and backhaul (IAB) capability. The first node may receive, from the second node and in response to the first message, a second message providing a second indication of IAB capability. The first node may establish an IAB capable connection with the second node based at least in part on the first message and the second message. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a repeater may determine a forwarding direction for a set of resources based at least in part on time division duplexing (TDD) information associated with the set of resources. The forwarding direction may indicate a direction associated with forwarding signals carried in the set of resources. The repeater may receive a signal in the set of resources, the signal being provided by a first wireless communication device. The repeater may selectively forward the signal to a second wireless communication device based at least in part on the determined forwarding direction. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described to enable a mobile access node to enter a new power state based on detection of a second access node. The second access node may be detected by the mobile access node or a central unit (CU). The mobile access node or the CU may determine for the mobile access node to enter a new power state and may notify the other of the determination. The mobile access node may enter a lower power state if the second access node is within a defined proximity or if one or more thresholds are exceeded. The mobile access node may enter a higher power state if no other access nodes are within the defined proximity or if the one or more thresholds are not exceeded. Configuration parameters for a power state change procedure may be configured by control signaling from a CU.

In some examples, a random access occasion may overlap in time with a synchronization signal block resource, where the random access occasion and the synchronization signal block resource have a same index. In some such examples, a base station may transmit, to a user equipment (UE), an indicator of a mapping of the random access occasion to an uplink beam that is associated with a synchronization signal block resource with a different index than the random access occasion. The UE may transmit, to the base station, a random access preamble over the random access occasion using the uplink beam.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. An integrated access and backhaul (IAB) system may perform contention window updates on an IAB node for different components of the IAB node. In some implementations, the IAB node may perform separate contention window updates in separate reference durations for the different components. Additionally or alternatively, the IAB node may perform a joint contention window update for the different components, where a single reference duration for updating contentions windows for the components may be defined for the IAB node that includes transmissions for both components. Additionally or alternatively, the IAB node may perform separate contention window updates for the different components based on the single reference duration that includes transmissions for both components, where feedback may be used separately to update corresponding contention windows.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. For example, the described techniques provide for a base station of a wireless communications system to determine a configuration for a repeating device to forward signals to another device. In some examples, the configuration may be based on a number of repeating devices in the wireless communications system. The base station may also transmit a message for the repeating device to forward. In some examples, based on a buffering capability of the repeating device, the base station may transmit the message with a zero time offset relative to the control signaling. The repeating device may receive and process the control signaling and receive and buffer the message. In response to processing the control signaling, the repeating device may transmit the buffered message to another device. Implementing aspects of present disclosure may enable an increased efficiency of forwarding in wireless communications systems.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station may transmit a downlink message to a user equipment (UE). The base station may allocate a receive time window associated with receiving an uplink message from the UE responsive to the downlink message, wherein the receive time window is allocated based at least in part on a maximum propagation round trip time (RTT) associated with UEs within a coverage area of the base station and a frame size of the uplink message. The base station may monitor the receive time window for the uplink message from the UE. The base station may receive the uplink message from the UE during the receive time window.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A wireless repeater may monitor for transmissions from multiple base stations. For example, a wireless repeater may communicate with a first base station and forward transmissions from the first base station to various user equipment (UEs). Such transmissions may include transmitting synchronization signal blocks (SSBs) for the first base station. The first base station may instruct the wireless repeater to monitor for SSBs from other base stations, where the wireless repeater may indicate the monitoring results in a report to the first base station. Based on the report, the first base station may transmit an indication of a beam pattern to the wireless repeater. The wireless repeater may use the beam pattern for repeating transmissions of SSBs received from the first base station, SSBs received from the second base station, or any combination thereof.

Abstract: This disclosure generally relates to systems, devices, apparatuses, products, and methods for wireless communication. For example, a communication system may include a repeater having a first communication interface that receives a control message that indicates a measurement configuration for a second communication interface of the repeater that is different than the first communication interface. The repeater receives, via the second communication interface, a first signal at the repeater from a first device. The repeater also measures a power metric associated with the first signal based on the measurement configuration. In some implementations, a base station or another device (e.g., UE), may communicate with the repeater and take one or more actions based on the power metric measured by the repeater.
