    Abstract: Techniques are described herein for a beam refinement procedure between a first communications device (e.g., base station) and a second communications device (e.g., user equipment (UE)) that uses long-term feedback information from the second communications device to maintain a beam pair link established for a downlink connection. The second communications device may transmit long-term feedback information to the first communications device in response to a request or a trigger event occurring. The long-term feedback information may be sensor information measured by the second communications device or uplink training symbols. The first communications device may localize a beam search of the beam refinement procedure using the long-term feedback information. The localized beam search may be an example of a device-specific search. The first communications device may also generate a long-term map of channel conditions based on the long-term feedback data. The long-term map may also be used to localize the search.

    Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a wireless communication device may determine a location of an object relative to the wireless communication device, wherein the location is determined based at least in part on a result of processing one or more images that include the object. The wireless communication device may configure at least one of a beam or a beam scan characteristic used to identify the beam to be used by the wireless communication device based at least in part on the location of the object relative to the wireless communication device. The wireless communication device may communicate using the beam. Numerous other aspects are provided.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that provide for multiple different receive beams at a user equipment (UE) that may be spatially associated with a single transmission beam from a base station. A UE may measure, using multiple different receive beams, multiple instances of a same reference signal transmitted by the base station using a same transmission beam. The UE may provide measurement reports associated with each of the measurements to the base station. A particular receive beam to be used for a downlink transmission may be selected from the multiple receive beams and may be indicated to the UE.
