Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communications and, more particularly, to methods and apparatus for segmenting uplink control information prior for encoding using a polar code prior to transmission. An exemplary method that may be performed by a wireless device generally includes iteratively segmenting a group of K information bits into a plurality of segments, encoding the information bits of each of the plurality of segments using a polar code to generate a plurality of encoded segments, and transmitting the plurality of encoded segments.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive, from another UE, a coordination message that includes resource information (e.g., a preference status) for communication resources. The UE receiving the coordination message may determine a status of one or more resources based on the resource information, an intended recipient of the coordination message (e.g., based on a destination identifier of the coordination message), or a communication connection associated with the one or more resources. The status may indicate that a respective resource of the one or more resources is available, reserved, preferred, or non-preferred, or some combination thereof. In some examples, the one or more resources may be for a sidelink connection or a unicast connection. The receiving UE may utilize the determined status to select one or more resources for a sidelink transmission.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a first user equipment (UE) may provide, to a physical layer from a higher layer, an indication of a set of sidelink resources or slots that are for an active time of a discontinuous reception (DRX) cycle of a second UE or destination identifier (ID) and that are not for an inactive time of the DRX cycle of the second UE or destination ID. The first UE may transmit, to the second UE or one or more UEs associated with the destination ID, a sidelink communication that is based at least in part on the set of sidelink resources or slots. Numerous other aspects are described.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for managing a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) buffer. An example method that may be performed by a first user equipment (UE) includes dropping, in response to a HARQ budget that is exceeded relative to a number of active HARQ processes, according to one or more rules, at least one of the transmissions or one or more transport blocks (TBs) associated with the at least one of the transmissions from being processed. The method further includes processing the remaining transmissions and taking one or more actions based on the processed remaining transmissions.

The first UE may then communicate, with the second UE via the sidelink channel, a sidelink message within the sidelink resource indicated in the resource reservation.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) may provide feedback regarding beam pairs used for wake-up signal (WUS) transmissions via uplink resources configured for WUS-based beam management feedback. A correspondence between WUSs and uplink resources for feedback may be semi-statically configured via radio resource control (RRC) signaling, may be dynamically indicated by each WUS, etc. In some examples, uplink resources for different UEs may be distinctive (e.g., UE-specific). In some cases, each beam used to transmit the wake-up message (e.g., each WUS) may have separate uplink resources, or all beams may share the same uplink resource (e.g., or some combination of uplink resources). As such, the UE and base station may identify one or more beams of sufficient quality (e.g., for control channel transmissions during a discontinuous reception (DRX) on-duration) based on the feedback (e.g., beam report) conveyed by the UE via the configured uplink resources for WUS-based fast beam management techniques.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that provide sequences of spreading codes and hopping patterns that may be used in non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) communications between a user equipment (UE) and a base station. A codebook of spreading codes and the associated hopping patterns may be systematically constructed by closed form formulas or look up table. The base station may receive multiple concurrent transmissions from multiple different UEs, and the sequences of spreading codes and hopping patterns, may be used to identify a particular UE of the multiple UEs.
