Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment may determine a relationship between a first set of antenna ports, used for demodulation reference signals (DMRS) associated with a machine-type communication physical downlink control channel (MPDCCH) and used for the MPDCCH, and a second set of antenna ports used for cell-specific reference signals (CRS); receive CRS on one or more antenna ports of the second set of antenna ports; and receive the MPDCCH using at least the CRS based at least in part on the relationship. Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, a transmitting device may send transmissions using a first numerology for a first type of user equipment (UE). The transmitting device may partition a stream of modulated data symbol tones into one or more contiguous subsets of modulated data symbol tones that result in a roughly frequency-flat channel for a second type of UE. The transmitting device may then perform precoding on individual subsets of the one or more contiguous subsets of modulated data symbol tones, and may insert a frequency-domain cyclic prefix, cyclic postfix, or guard interval after each precoded subset. Thus, the first type of UE may communicate using the first numerology and the second type of UE may communicate using the first numerology but with the frequency-domain cyclic prefixes to address doppler spread experienced by the second type of UE.

Abstract: A base station may calculate a scheduling value based on at least one of a number of groups associated with a set of UEs operating on a cell provided by the base station a radio frame number, or a subframe number. The base station may send, based on the calculated scheduling value, at least one NRS in at least one PO on a narrowband control channel. A UE may receive, from the base station providing the cell, information associated with at least one PO for the UE. The UE may determine, based on the received information, scheduling information associated with at least one NRS in the at least one PO. The UE may detect the at least one NRS in the at least one PO on a narrowband control channel when the determined scheduling information indicates the at least one NRS is in the at least one PO.

Abstract: A method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided for wireless communication at a User Equipment (UE). The UE receives a second random access message from the base station after transmitting a first random access message. The second random access message comprises a random access response (RAR) that indicates a narrowband to be used for receiving a fourth random access message. The apparatus determines whether to perform a measurement of the narrowband for the fourth random access message based on an amount of time between receiving the second random access message and transmitting a third random access message. The base station may determine whether the report comprises a measurement of the first narrowband or the second narrowband based on an amount of time between the second random access message and the third random access message or based on an indication in the third random access message.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A network may be configured to provide a beam measurement configuration to a UE that indicates durations for monitoring transmission beams, and tuning a component of the UE between the monitoring. The durations may include a first portion that a UE may use for a tuning operation and a second portion that the UE may use to monitor for or measure a respective reference signal. In various examples, the indicated durations may include a third portion that the UE may use for another tuning operation, or the durations may overlap with one another during an overlap duration that the UE may use for another tuning operation. During the indicated durations, the network may refrain from transmitting other downlink data or control information for the UE, and the UE may refrain from monitoring for such other downlink data or control information.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described in which repetitions of communications may be configured for multi-transport block (TB) communications. A UE may determine that an acknowledgment of one or more initial repetitions of one or more TBs is received, and may cancel one or more subsequent repetitions of the acknowledged TB(s). The acknowledgment of the one or more initial repetitions may be provided by a base station in a new resource grant that provides an implicit acknowledgment of one or more TBs. In cases where multiple different TBs may be associated with the prior resource grant, the UE can determine to drop one or more repetitions after an implicit acknowledgment of a TB based on whether the resource grants are for a single TB or are for multiple TBs.

Further control messaging may specify one of these indices, and a user equipment (UE) may communicate with a network entity, such as a satellite or base station using a bandwidth part in a beam specified in the control messaging.

A user equipment (UE) may transmit, to the base station, a beam recovery request including an indication of a multicast beam, where the beam recovery request is transmitted based at least in part on a unicast uplink grant, and where the unicast uplink grant comprises a set of uplink resources for a multicast beam recovery procedure based at least in part on a failure of the multicast beam associated with multicast communications between the UE and the base station. The UE may receive, from the base station in response to the beam recovery request, a response message including an indication of a second uplink grant, an indication of a second beam for communications between the UE and the base station, or both. The UE may transmit a first uplink transmission via the second uplink grant, the second beam, or both.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may identify a multicast service available for subscription by the UE or to which the UE is already subscribed. The UE may transmit a message, to a network node, that may include UE assistance information (UAI) indicating at least one of a UE capability to process multicast transmissions or a feedback scheme preference for reporting feedback for the multicast transmissions. The UAI may also include at least one of a multicast carrier preference, band or carrier measurement report, a multicast priority indication, or a measurement and reporting scheme preference for the multicast transmissions. The network node may receive the UAI and determine one or more parameters for multicast communications with the UE based on the UAI. The UE may receive the multicast transmissions from the network node in accordance with the UAI.

Abstract: A scheduling offset between an uplink and downlink radio frame timing structure of a user equipment (UE) may be updated to provide for more efficient utilization of hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) processes in a non-terrestrial network. For instance, different UEs may experience different round trip delays (RTDs) with a non-terrestrial cell. Different UEs may be configured with different scheduling offsets such that scheduling delays may be reduced and HARQ processes identifiers may be reused more rapidly. Additionally or alternatively, wireless communications systems may define one or more separation distances (or timing thresholds) for timing between communications and HARQ processes may be reused based on the separation distance threshold (e.g., such that a satellite may reuse a HARQ process ID for two scheduled communications that have not yet been performed by the UE).
