Abstract: In a case where an IP address is not available in a printing apparatus, the printing apparatus generates a Bluetooth low energy packet including a specific value as the IP address, and transmits the generated Bluetooth low energy packet to a mobile terminal. Upon receiving of the Bluetooth low energy packet, a mobile terminal displays a message corresponding to the specific value.

Abstract: A scan task system includes a plurality of imaging devices, including MFDs, dedicated scanners, or mobile phones with scanning or camera functions. The system notifies a user or a number of users when a particular document needs to be scanned and transmitted to a specific destination. A scan task is sent to available imaging devices, and will appear when the user logs in at any imaging device on the network. When a user executes the scan task at any one of the imaging devices, the scan task is removed from all devices. The scan task can be pre-programmed to appropriately file or send a scanned document when the scan is executed.

Abstract: A control method of an image forming apparatus for eliminating waste of sheet when a jam of an original occurs at the time of reading while shortening FCOT (First Copy Output Time) is provided. In the image forming apparatus, when double-sided image reading of the original fed by an ADF and the like is performed, for a first original, before the image reading of the first original is completed, a read image of the first original is started to print (printer output). A second original is not discharged but it is temporarily stopped. Then, if the image reading of the second original is failed, after the second original is replaced and after the image reading is completed, the read image of the second original is started to print (printer output).

An external apparatus receives a simple-security setting for image data for which there is a printing instruction, includes the simple-security setting in the printing instruction, and transmits the printing instruction to an image forming apparatus. The image forming apparatus, when a simple-security setting is included, adds a mark image to the image data for which there is a printing instruction, and prints the image data. A projector, by an imaging unit, captures an image of the discharge tray, and when a mark image is detected, generates a projection image on which a security image is arranged, and projects the projection image toward the discharge tray.

Abstract: In a communication system, an image forming apparatus sends an address of a receiving section to a mobile terminal. The mobile terminal receives a selection of an image data among plural thumbnails displayed on a display section, and wirelessly sends the selected image data to the image forming apparatus with the address. The image forming apparatus receives the selected image data sent with the address by the mobile terminal, and prints an image based on the selected image data. A communication between the mobile terminal and the image forming apparatus is performed wirelessly with an IEEE 802.11 standard. The image forming apparatus continuously performs a second printing, when the receiving section receives a selected image data again in a condition that the communication with the mobile terminal is continuously established by the receiving section after the printing of the received image data is finished.
