Abstract:
A building for a data center (or server farm) includes a stack structure that interfaces with an environment and one or more housings coupled to a floor and the stack structure. Each of the housings includes one or more racks with a plurality of servers and each of the servers includes a computer fan capable of varying speed or reversing direction. The building also includes one or more filters between the one or more housings and the environment and one or more walls operable to be between the one or more filters and the environment.
Abstract:
Techniques are provided which enhance a user's browsing experience by bringing greater attention to potentially relevant advertising content amidst non-relevant content. When a user access a browser to view content, information related to the interests of the user are used to identify relevant browser content to be used for potential advertisement targeting. The identified browser content is highlighted and stored for future use and the browser scroll settings are altered during the user's browsing session. In some embodiments, the settings are altered such that a user's ability to scroll through any identified browser content while displayed is slowed and the user's ability to scroll through the remaining browser content while displayed is quickened.
Abstract:
A computer-implemented method is disclosed for real-time inventory tracking with a mobile device, including: receiving a communication for a stationary inventory item via a cellular or wireless network from a tracking server that is coupled with the cellular or wireless network; and tracking the stationary inventory item on a registered consumer mobile device in real-time via the cellular or wireless network, wherein tracking comprises: receiving an updated status regarding a quantity and a location related to the stationary inventory item; and displaying the updated status on a screen of the mobile device in real time.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the present invention provide systems, methods and computer program products for generating search results comprising web documents with associated expert information. One embodiment of a method for generating such search results includes receiving one or more search queries, selecting one of the one or more search queries, determining one or more categories of web documents responsive to the selected search query and crawling a web graph of linked web documents to identify one or more web documents tagged as within the one or more categories responsive to the selected search query. The method further includes generating a result set of the one or more web documents identified as within the one or more categories responsive to the selected search query, ranking the result set and generating a list of ranked search results responsive to the selected search.
Abstract:
A system may include an interface, memory, and a processor configured to execute instructions stored in the memory. The interface may be configured to receive a signal that may include one or more user-selected frames of video content. The processor may execute the instructions to identify a market-relevant video object in the one or more frames. The processor may also facilitate storing in the memory, market-relevant information associated with the market-relevant video object. The processor may also execute the instructions to compare the stored market-relevant information to stored advertisement information and determine ad request criteria and/or advertisement for distribution to a user based on the comparison.
Abstract:
Methods and system include obtaining attributes of athletic players from one or more sources. The attributes define statistics of the athletic players. Minimum requirements are determined for teams organized in a group. A listing is generated for each team in the group. The listing includes a plurality of entries wherein each entry is configured to present attributes of an athletic player or a team that is part of the group. Select ones of the plurality of entries in the listing are static and select ones of the entries are dynamic. The entries that are static are used to provide minimum requirements defined for each team in the group and the entries that are dynamic are used to provide attributes of the teams or the athletic players. The dynamic entries are adjusted during a drafting process to provide current status of the teams and the athletic players.
Abstract:
Method, system, and programs for dynamic control of a processing system having a plurality of tiers. Queue lengths of a plurality of nodes in one of the plurality of tiers are received. A control objective is received from a higher tier. One or more requests from the higher tier are processed by the plurality of nodes in the tier. A control model of the tier is computed based on the received queue lengths. One or more parameters of the control model are adjusted based on the received control objective. At least one control action is determined based on the control model and the control objective.
Abstract:
Techniques are provided for improving the speed and accuracy of analytics on big data using theta sketches, by converting fixed-size sketches to theta sketches, and by performing set operations on sketches. In a technique for performing a set operation, two sketches are analyzed to identify the maximum value of each sketch. The maximum values of the two sketches are compared. Based the comparison, one or more values are removed from the sketch whose maximum value is greater. After the removal, a set operation (e.g., union, intersection, or difference) is performed based on the modified sketch and the unmodified sketch. A result of the set operation is a third sketch, which may be used to estimate a cardinality of the larger data sets that are represented by the two input sketches.
Abstract:
Systems and methods, including user interfaces, are provided for implementing searches using contextual information associated with a Web page (or other document) that a user is viewing when a query is entered. The page includes a contextual search interface that has an associated context vector representing content of the page. When the user submits a search query via the contextual search interface, the query and the context vector are both provided to the query processor and used in responding to the query.
Abstract:
Among other disclosures, a method may include identifying content in an electronic communication, the content including a link. The method may include characterizing content associated with the link and storing the characterization. Upon detecting a match of a characterization, presenting one or more of the communication or portion thereof, the link or content associated with the link.
