Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques that may allow a base station and user equipment (UE) to be in agreement on spatial quasi co-location (QCL) assumptions for transmission in certain scenarios. The techniques may be used, for example, to determine QCL assumptions for downlink transmissions sent in an initial control resource set (CORESET) on an initial downlink bandwidth part (BWP) where dedicated signaling of such assumptions may be lacking. In some cases, the techniques may involve a UE determining a beam to use for monitoring for a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) transmission on the initial CORESET in the initial downlink BWP that lacks dedicated signaling of QCL information and monitoring for the PDCCH on the initial CORESET in the initial BWP using the determined beam. Other aspects and features are also claimed and described.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications at a user equipment (UE) are described. The UE may receive first control signaling indicating an energy saving mode pattern of energy saving modes of a network entity and one or more respective durations over which the network entity is to operate in the energy saving modes for transmissions in a plurality of slots, the energy saving mode pattern based at least in part on one or more slot types of the plurality of slots. The UE may receive second control signaling scheduling one or more data signals to be communicated between the UE and the network entity during a scheduled duration that at least partially overlaps with at least one of the one or more durations. The UE may communicate the one or more data signals during the scheduled duration in accordance with the energy saving mode pattern.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, abase station may employ a reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) that uses passive components to reflect incoming signals in one or more directions. The base station may dynamically configure the RIS to reflect an incoming signal in a specific direction. The base station may transmit, to one or more user equipments (UEs), a message indicating a configuration of one or more RISs. In some aspects, the configuration may include a location of a RIS, reflection angles of a RIS, or both. Based on the configuration, a UE may select a RIS to facilitate communications with the base station. The base station and the UE may communicate via the selected RIS. In some examples, the base station may communicate with one or more UEs via one or more RISs using RIS division multiple access (RDMA).

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to communicating uplink control information. In an aspect, a first device receives from a second device configuration information including an indication to transmit uplink control information via a primary component carrier (PCC) or a given secondary component carrier (SCC) of at least one SCC in a slot. The first device also receives from the second device mapping information indicating an enabled spatial relation information configured for the PCC or the given SCC for transmitting the uplink control information. Thereafter, the first device identifies the enabled spatial relation information from the mapping information and transmits to the second device the uplink control information on the PCC or the given SCC in the slot based on the indication included in the configuration information, the enabled spatial relation information, and an uplink resource mapped to the enabled spatial relation information.
