Abstract: A surgical device for intraoperative angle measurements during surgery. The surgical device includes a shaft having a bone probe configured to remain in contact with cortical bone of the patient while a user orients the shaft to a desired orientation. The device includes a housing having an electronic circuit configured to measure an orientation angle. The electronic circuit may include: an input device configured to receive user input data; a measurement circuit configured to measure a change in orientation of the shaft in relation to a reference axis; a control circuit coupled to the input device and measurement circuit and configured to determine the orientation angle of the shaft relative to the reference axis; and an output device configured to communicate the orientation angle to the user. The device includes a power supply configured to provide power to the electronic circuit.

Abstract: The present invention relates to medical devices and methods for treating a lesion such as a vascular stenosis using non-thermal irreversible electroporation (NTIRE). Embodiments of the present invention provide a balloon catheter type NTIRE device for treating a target lesion comprising a plurality of electrodes positioned along the balloon that are electrically independent from each other so as to be individually selectable in order to more precisely treat an asymmetrical lesion in which the lesion extends only partially around the vessel.

Abstract: Sensing technology methods related thereto for determining cut through of bone and a depth of penetration of a working portion of a surgical instrument (e.g., an oscillating saw blade in a cut). A first sensor outputs a first signal representative of a displacement of the cutting edge of the saw blade in the cut. A second sensor outputs a second signal representative of a force applied to the cutting edge of the saw blade. As such, monitoring the first and/or second sensor may allow for the saw to be stopped upon completion of a cut (e.g., when the saw passes completely through a medium to be cut or upon reaching a predetermined depth for the cut).
