摘要: A method and apparatus for a first device to determine profile information are described including receiving input from a second device, wherein at least one of the first device or the second device detects physical characteristics of people present in an area and the physical characteristics are used by the device to determine who is present in the area, retrieving profile information of the people present in the area, determining a relationship between profiles of the people in the area, applying rules to negotiate a compromise regarding device settings responsive to the relationship between profiles of the people present in the area and adjusting settings of a first device or a third device responsive to the compromise.

摘要: A first device listens for a communication token across an audio bandwidth covering a transmit frequency one or more audio frequency broadcasting device. The first device receives at least one token broadcast from the one or more broadcasting devices. The first device demodulates and decodes each received token. One or more computing devices validates each decoded token. The first device determines, based on the validating, a broadcasting device of the broadcasting devices with which to establish a communications channel The one or more computing devices generates a response token based on the token received from the determined device. The first device broadcasts the generated response token in a response band of the determined device. The determined device demodulates decodes, and validates the token broadcast from the first device. Upon determining the token broadcast from the first device valid, the first device and the determined device establish a wireless communication channel.

摘要: In a method for identifying a user in a network of broadcast communication receivers, a physical characteristic of a user is analyzed in association with the user accessing a first of the receivers. First biometric information based on the characteristic as analyzed in association with the user accessing the first receiver is generated. Data associated with use of the first receiver by the user is also generated and associated with the first biometric information. The physical characteristic of the user is then analyzed in association with the user accessing a second receiver. Second biometric information based on the physical characteristic as analyzed in association with the user accessing the second receiver is generated. The first and second biometric information are then compared. If the first and second biometric information indicate the physical characteristic of the same user, the data is employed in conjunction with the user accessing the second receiver.

A media stream containing the media content may be received from a source system, and context information about the media content is determined from information about the media stream. The supplemental content may be selected based on the determined context information. This may enable a business model in which third parties can register advertising or other supplemental content and specify the criteria that cause it to be combined with the media content.

摘要: An electronic device that reduces relative drift is described. In particular, an interface circuit in the electronic device may calculate, based on differences between transmit times when packets were transmitted by a second electronic device and receive times of the packets, relative drift as a function of time between a clock in the interface circuit and a second clock in the second electronic device. Then, the interface circuit may adjust, based on the relative drift, a clock circuit that provides the clock to eliminate the relative drift, and may store the adjustments to the clock circuit. Furthermore, when a wireless reset occurs, the interface circuit may adapt the clock circuit based on the stored adjustments to reduce the relative drift while the interface circuit restores frequency lock with the second clock based on additional packets with additional transmit times that are received from the second electronic device.

A server having a first set of content stored within a memory can be communicatively coupled with one or more clients such as using a plurality of wireless access points. Each of the clients can have a processor, memory, and transceiver, such that it can communicate with the server and potentially its neighbors. Groups of the clients can be communicatively coupled, such as via a wired or wireless network, which permits the clients to communicate with one another to retrieve content, for example, rather than burden the server or the wireless access points.

The computing device receives a second request to create a second zone scene including a second preconfigured grouping of zones including the first zone and a third zone, and based on the second request, causes creation and storage of the second zone scene. While displaying a representation of the first zone scene and a representation of the second zone scene, the computing devices receives a third request to invoke the first zone scene, and based on the third request, causes the first zone scene to be invoked such that the first zone and the second zone become configured for synchronous playback of media.

摘要: An electronic device that coordinates a playback operation is described. In particular, an interface circuit in the electronic device may calculate, based on differences between transmit times when packets were transmitted by a second electronic device and receive times of the packets, relative drift as a function of time between a clock in the interface circuit and a second clock in the second electronic device. Then, the interface circuit may adjust, based on the relative drift, a clock circuit that provides the clock to eliminate the relative drift, and may determine a remaining time offset between the clock and the second clock. Next, the interface circuit may modify a future time when the second electronic device is to perform the playback operation based on the remaining time offset to determine a corrected future time, and may transmit information to the second electronic device specifying the corrected future time.
