摘要： An air conditioner and a method for controlling the same are disclosed. The air conditioner is able to operate in an efficient cooling cycle while simultaneously guaranteeing superior cooling performance in a low-temperature operation region. In the air conditioner, an airflow directing apparatus, which is installed in an outdoor unit, suppresses not only natural convection of the air, but also heat exchange between the condenser and outdoor air by the blowing fan, such that the air conditioner forms a normal cooling cycle by guaranteeing condenser pressure. The air conditioner guarantees cooling performance of a low-temperature operation region by adjusting the amount of outdoor air flowing through blade control of the airflow directing apparatus, and operates in an efficient cooling cycle, resulting in acquisition of compressor reliability.

摘要： For minimizing the effect of wind on a heat exchanger system having a plurality of finned tube arrays and a plurality of fans, a method includes providing a wind louver below one of the fans. The wind louver is arranged to divert wind flowing in an approximately horizontal direction below the one of the plurality of fans to instead flow in a direction that is more vertically upward as compared to the approximately horizontal direction. Readings of a heat exchanger outlet temperature, ambient temperature, wind, and inlet air pressure are collected and recorded, and compared to previous readings. The louver height is changed if the readings have changed.

摘要： An outdoor unit (ODU) for an air conditioning system includes a baffle or other airflow direction control such that the cooling air from a condenser is at least partially directed over the compressor to provide air movement around the compressor to assist in thermal transfer of heat from the compressor. In one system, curvilinear frustoconical baffles are positioned in a conventional barrel-type outdoor unit to direct airflow toward the compressor before being discharged from the unit. When any of the ODUs is part of a heat pump system for providing heating and cooling, a retractable or movable air diverting system is employed when in the heating mode to prevent airflow through the condenser from reaching the compressor.

摘要： Systems and methods for low ambient air temperature cooling in air-source based heat pump systems wherein an outdoor heat pump unit includes a discharge hood positionable over its fan. The hood including a damper that is openable and closeable as a function of outside temperature. The outdoor unit may also include wind deflectors positioned over the coil openings of the disclosure. During cooling operations below a low outside air threshold temperature, e.g., below 23° F., the damper assembly partially closes to reduce airflow across the condenser coil of the outdoor unit to a level below that which is possible at minimum fan speed. As the outdoor temperature continues to drop, the damper assembly continues to close to further reduce airflow.
