摘要: Self-ignited burns can be increased by stimulation. External ignition must often be carried out in the combustion chamber. Often an ignition nucleus is formed electrically. This has energetic disadvantages. Required internals can be disadvantageous. Ignitions with plasma torches also need fixed internals. Electromagnetically, however, the ignition field can be widened, the combustion rate increased and the temperature changed. Due to high electrical consumption, this effective ignition has not yet been advantageous for aerospace applications. This concept should be feasible with low electrical energy requirements.
Sufficient electrical energy can be provided by turbopump, generator or thermocouple. For better coupling of electromagnetism, catalytic absorbers and possibly other particles are used. These lower the activation energy. Contactless ignition can be achieved using ceramics or metallic antennas. Ignition in the center of the combustion chamber at the highest pressures is particularly promising. The aim is to achieve combustion that is as directional as possible.-

摘要: A flameless combustion heater is described, that comprises an oxidation conduit and a fuel conduit positioned within the oxidation conduit to form an oxidation zone having an inlet and an outlet, said fuel conduit having a plurality of openings that provide fluid communication from within the fuel conduit to the oxidation conduit wherein the longitudinal axis of at least one opening forms an oblique angle with the inner surface of the oxidation conduit. A method for providing heat to a process conduit is described, that comprises providing an oxidation conduit; providing a fuel conduit having a plurality of openings that provide fluid communication from within the fuel conduit to the oxidation conduit wherein the longitudinal axis of at least one opening forms an oblique angle with the inner surface of the oxidation conduit; providing a process conduit in a heat exchange relationship with the oxidation conduit; introducing fuel into the fuel conduit; introducing an oxidant into the oxidation conduit; and introducing the fuel into the oxidation conduit through the plurality of openings such that flameless combustion occurs in the oxidation conduit.

The system further comprises a sleeve made of porous material comprising a cavity substantially axial designed to tightly hold a wick purposed to carry a combustible composition to the burner. The sleeve is placed in line with the lower part of the burner so that the combustible composition can move from the pores of the upper part of the sleeve towards the pores of the lower part of the burner.
