The gripping assembly comprises a frame and a plurality of gripping arms. Each of the gripping arms further includes a first end and a second end. The first end is movably coupled to the frame. The plurality of gripping arms are positionable so as to substantially correspond with the plurality of corner regions of the substantially filled inner container. Additionally, the controlled movement of the gripping arms relative to the frame facilitates retention and release of the plurality of corner regions of the inner container.

On demand, this product is transferred, by tapping means (4), to packages which are partially filled with product the surface of which is surmounted with an overhead of the said gas at a raised pressure after the package has been sealed. Preferably, the system is used to include coupons and the like with products being automatically packaged, such as sliced loaf bread. The system may comprise an insert delivery tray, card conveyor, or carousel and magazine combination, a feeder mechanism, and an insert placer configured to select an insert from the tray, conveyor, or magazine. Preferably, the insert placer includes a vacuum system and moves linearly. Additionally, the feeder mechanism may be positioned either perpendicularly, or parallel, to the scoop assembly, so as to feed an insert onto the scoop assembly at various points along the path of the scoop. The invention also comprises methods of using the system.

摘要： While the manufacturing of integrated circuits (IC) has become a mostly automated process, the loading of the ICs into storage and shipping tubes 105 still requires a large amount of human interaction. A major stumbling block to the automation is the removal and insertion of retention pins 115 in the tubes. The present invention uses pressurized air 406 to hold a partially extracted retention pin 115 in position while the tube 105 is loaded. Once loaded, the retention pin 115 is reinserted. By not fully extracting the retention pin 115, alignment is maintained, simplifying the reinsertion step.

摘要： A pocket conveyor for use in food processing in which the pockets move independently from each other. Each pocket contains a portion of food which is conveyed from one processing machine to another in the course of food production. Independent movement of the pockets provides for, among other things, greater efficiencies in food production by allowing independent operation of the various processing machines along the conveyor as well as allowing the use of multiple processing machines for each of one or more processes. Further, independent movement of the pockets eliminates the maintenance issues associated with pockets which are chain-linked, such as chain and motor related failure.

The packaging system also provides for pacing a packager through a set of packaging instructions and monitoring the packager's productivity.
