摘要: Disclosed herein is a pet food composition and methods of making a pet food composition using an extrusion process, wherein the resultant pet food composition comprises an enhanced level of resistant starch. The pet food compositions disclosed herein may increase the proportions of beneficial gastrointestinal bacteria, such as Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium, while decreasing deleterious bacteria such as Megamonas. The improved microbial environment resulting from the pet food compositions disclosed herein having an enhanced level of resistant starch may lead to both improved gastrointestinal and psychobiotic health for the animal consuming the pet food composition.

摘要: The invention provides barley grain comprising a reduced level or activity of starch synthase IIa protein and a starch content of at least 41% (w/w) and methods of producing, identifying and using same. 摘要: The present invention provides for metal chelating compositions which are soluble in aqueous media. The present invention also provides chelating compositions that possess acceptable iron sequestering strengths and are able to present a physical form that potentially inhibits (e.g. does not permit easy) access of iron sequestered by the compositions to the cells being targeted. Compositions comprising chelating aspects affixed to or incorporated into suitable carrier materials such that the resulting metal chelating composition is soluble in aqueous media are also provided. Disclosed herein are chelating compositions, for chelating one or more essential metals. The chelating compositions being soluble in an aqueous medium and comprising one or more metal binding chemical groups affixed to or incorporated into the structure of a carrier material, such that the resulting chelating composition is able to bind one or more metals, and remains substantially soluble in the aqueous medium with its bound metal or metals.
