Abstract:
An adapter device for securement to an output rotary drive of a drill. The adapter comprises a housing having an input connector securable to the rotary drive, and an output connector. A fixed mode cam is immovably secured with respect to the housing. A displaceable floating cam is provided intermediate the input connector and a displaceable keying element. The floating cam is displaceable in and out of engagement with the input keying element. An adjusting assembly is provided to displace the keying element in and out of engagement with the fixed mode cam and the floating cam whereby the input connector can impart a rotary drive, rotary drive and impact forces or impact forces only to the output connector.
Abstract:
Method for drilling a metal part driven in a rotating movement about the axis xx'. The drill is brought, besides the advancing movement along the axis xx' by a longitudinal alternating movement along the axis xx' and by a pivoting alternating movement about the axis xx'. The shavings thus formed break and are easily removed, this increasing the drilling speed. Tool-carrier for bringing the method into effect comprises a piston sliding and pivoting in a sleeve. The piston is provided with a holder bearing the drill and comprises a cavity inside which an eccentric rotates.
Abstract:
A drive system is provided in which a pair of fixedly mounted motors imparts simultaneous and independent rotational and translational motion to a disc such as a print disc containing a character font. By means of a belt and pulley system, different rotations of the two motors produce different combinations of rotational and translational motions of the disc. The system may also drive elements other than a disc, e.g., a bar and pen arrangement such as that typically employed in an X-Y plotter. A related mechanical system is also disclosed in which translational motion of a pair of rack gears provides simultaneous and independent rotation and translation to a pinion gear. The driving translational motion may also be supplied by a pair of independent belt drives moving parallel or antiparallel to each other.
Abstract:
A linear dual actuator for a sitting and/or lying furniture comprising an adjustable section, which is adjusted by means of a pivot shaft (4) furnished with an arm (5). The actuator is of the type comprising a housing (8) with an aperture for the pivot shaft (4), and where the arm reaches into the housing after the actuator is mounted on the pivot shaft. The actuator comprises a spindle nut constructed as a power transmitting sliding element (12) mounted on the spindle (14) driven by an electromotor over a transmission. The spindle nut is secured against rotation in the housing, which can be brought into engagement with the arm for pivoting the pivot shaft. For determining the position of the section the actuator comprises a sliding potentiometer (17) arranged parallel to the spindle and where the spindle nut is directly mechanically connected to the sliding potentiometer. By means of the signal from the sliding potentiometer a position determination of the section is achieved.
Abstract:
A drive train for a pivotable flap of a motor vehicle includes a holding device which can hold the flap in at least one open position, a first element which can be driven by a drive motor, and a second element connected to the pivotable flap to pivot the flap in response to movement of the first element. When the second element is moved along a path of motion relative to the first element counter to a specific spring force, a sensor generates a signal indicating relative motion of the elements, and a control device releases the holding device in response to the signal, whereby the flap can be moved manually by applying a force counter to the spring force.
Abstract:
An electric toothbrush wherein the number of revolution of a motor shaft is in match with the frequency of reciprocating motion of the brush. A motor (2) housed in a tubular case (1) is coupled to a reciprocating shaft (5) slidably extending through the forward end of the case by a scotch yoke mechanism (40) for converting one turn of rotation of the motor shaft (21) into one stroke of reciprocating pivotal movement of a pivotal body (4), and by motion conversion means (3) for converting one stroke of reciprocating movement of the pivotal body (4) into one stroke of linear reciprocating motion of the reciprocating shaft (5).
Abstract:
Actuating system comprising an actuator with a torque-transmission element for a movable element, in particular a swing-action panel in a motor vehicle, the movable element being mounted pivotably in a basic hinge element. The actuating system has a torque support arranged functionally between the basic hinge element and the actuator, at least one key profile being made in the torque support, so that it is possible to bring about axial plug-connection assembly with the basic hinge element.
Abstract:
A movable stage system includes a motor which rotates a rotational element, a transmission system engaged with the motor and selectively engaged with a platform, a first lock which engages the transmission system such that the transmission system moves the platform according to a rotation of the rotational element, a second lock which engages the transmission system such that the transmission system moves the platform moves according to the rotation of the rotational element. When the first lock engages and the second lock does not engage the transmission system, the transmission system moves the platform in a first direction according to the rotation of the rotational element. When the first lock does not engage and the second lock engages with the transmission system, the transmission system moves the platform in a second direction other than the first direction according to the rotation of the rotational element.
Abstract:
A wood planing machine includes a carriage having four corners mounted on a base via four hollow posts. Four screw rods are disposed rotatably in the posts. Four tubular threaded members are secured to the corners of the carriage, and are disposed within the posts, respectively. Each of the threaded members defines a threaded bore for engaging the respective screw rod, and has an internally threaded portion, and a circumferential slot formed through the internally threaded portion to divide the same into upper and lower parts. The upper part has a bottom surface confining a top end of the slot. The lower part is formed with a threaded bore therethrough. A locking bolt engages the threaded bore in the lower part, and presses against the bottom surface of the upper part such that threads on the upper parts press upwardly against the screw rods and that threads on the lower parts press downwardly against the screw rods.
