    摘要: A heavy-duty power transmission V-belt includes right and left tension members having concave parts on upper and lower faces thereof, and a large number of blocks having fitting parts for compressedly fitting the tension members therein on right and left side faces of the blocks. By compressedly fitting the tension members in the fitting parts of the blocks, the respective blocks are fixedly engaged with the tension members so as to allow the side faces thereof to be brought into contact with a groove face of the pulley. An innermost lower face is formed in an innermost portion of the fitting part of each block, and an innermost lower face angle &agr; between the innermost lower face and a vertical plane is determined so as to have a relationship of &bgr;−3

    摘要: A trapezoidal endless power transmission belt structure is provided which is made primarily of elastomeric material and has a pair of oppositely arranged surfaces disposed in spaced relation to define an outside and inside surface of the belt structure and has a load-carrying section arranged midway between the inside and outside surfaces. The belt structure has a tension section and a compression section which are of similar construction and each is comprised of a plurality of layers including a fiber-loaded layer disposed adjacent the load-carrying section and a fabric layer disposed remote from the load-carrying section; and, the fabric layers and fiber-loaded layers cooperate to assure that the belt structure has longitudinal flexibility yet has transverse rigidity or stiffness sufficient to enable the belt structure to be operated in associated sheaves free of shear planes parallel to the load-carrying section.

    摘要: An endless power transmission belt construction having power transmitting contact faces and method of making the same are provided, the belt construction comprising an axial tensioning unit, a plurality of lateral stiffening units carried by the tensioning unit, and friction material carried by at least one of the tensioning unit and stiffening units, the tensioning unit and the stiffening units being formed of polymeric material that provides an axial and lateral stiffness in excess of that normally provided by polymeric friction material that normally forms the main body of a belt construction that is reinforced with such a tensioning unit and stiffening units. The stiffening means and the tensioning means are formed of the same material and comprise a one-piece construction. The friction material is located only at the contact faces of the belt construction and thereby defines only the contact faces of the belt construction while the tensioning and stiffening units define all other exposed areas of the belt construction.

    摘要: An endless power transmission belt and method of making same are provided wherein such belt (which may be a toothed belt) is made primarily of polymeric material comprising a compression section having opposed sides and means for stress relief of the belt during operation thereof around associated sheaves and wherein the stress-relief means comprises a plurality of cavities extending into the compression section from each of the sides with each of the cavities defining a corresponding roughly concave surface, each concave surface has a top arcuate portion opening downwardly toward the inner surface of the belt and a bottom arcuate portion opening outwardly toward its associated side with the cavities providing stress relief by minimizing cracking tendencies in the compression section of the belt while reducing the aggressiveness of the belt during operation thereof around the sheaves.

This belt is capable of an elongation of at least 11/2 percent after vulcanization and comprises a body portion of flexible elastomeric material having a load carrying section embedded in the body portion including an undulating strength member.The belt of this invention is made by assembling a belt structure upon a forming mandrel, placing the belt structure around a curing mandrel having a smaller diameter than the diameter of the forming mandrel, and vulcanizing the belt structure to form a completed belt structure.
