    摘要: A device for heat treatment is provided. The device includes at least one processing chamber arranged in an elongated housing having a heating device and having a transport system for continuous transport of material to be treated through the processing chamber. The transport system has two parallel endless conveyor belts spaced from each other and a plurality of cylinders made of quartz glass that bridge the distance between the conveyor belts. The cylinders are supported on these belts and the material to be treated is supported on the cylinders for the heat treatment. The cylinders are designed as twin tubes, formed by two tubular compartments separated from each other by an intermediate partition. Each tubular compartment has a longitudinal axis and is connected rotation-free at its end with the conveyor belts.

    摘要: A refractory roll cover is described that reduces the amount of noxious dust during the production of glass sheet. The roll cover comprises a plurality of segments, including low dusting millboard segments mechanically supported by highly rigidized compressed fiber segments. The millboard segments are adapted to contact the glass sheet. The millboard is chosen so that any dust produced has little affinity for the glass sheet or is not easily fluidized by convective currents. The highly rigidized compressed fiber has a fused surface that releases little dust. The resultant roll cover substantially eliminates dusting while providing a mechanically superior roll cover.

    摘要: Pulling rolls (13) for glass ribbons (11) are provided. The rolls include a shaft (17), a plurality of heat-resistant discs (15) mounted on the shaft in face-to-face contact, and a pair of fittings (25 or 25,31) affixed to the shaft which apply an axial compressive force to the discs. The axial compressive force gives the portions (27) of the roll surface (33) which contact the glass ribbon during use a Shore D hardness at room temperature of between 30 and 55. The rolls achieve a long service life without applying excessive force to the glass ribbon or generating high levels of particulate contamination.
