摘要: A `heat battery` or heat storage device based on the phenomena that at a particular temperature and pressure water becomes supercritical and can absorb increasing quantities of heat without a corresponding increase in either temperature or pressure. The device may operate a heat engine such as the Stirling engine or a steam turbine engine in an automobile. The battery includes a pressure vessel for maintaining a charge of water in the vessel at approximately 374 degrees Centigrade and 221 bars of pressure. A heat exchanger coil is positioned in the vessel from which useful heat is extracted and applied to end use such as a heat engine. An electric heater for inputting heat into the charge of water is positioned in the vessel and external connections from the vessel allow for changing the charge of supercritical water and for substituting high supercritical heat containing water for a charge that has been substantially depleted of supercritical heat.

摘要: A longitudinally slidable cam shaft means for use with an automotive power system having improved efficiency and low pollution characteristics. The drive motor operates only when power to the wheels is desired and includes variably opening valves controlled by the cam shaft means. The axially sliding cam shaft controls the valves which may be opened by varying amounts to control the speed and direction of rotation of the drive motor. Regenerative braking is provided by the drive motor and by reversing the direction of rotation of the cam shaft, the valves act to send compressed gas to the combustion chamber.

摘要: An automotive power system having improved efficiency and low pollution characteristics. The system is powered by compressed gas and includes two positive displacement engines. The drive motor operates only when power to the wheels is desired. The compressor motor operates only to keep the pressure in the combustion chamber or energy storage reservoir within a desired range. Regenerative braking is provided and energy is recovered thereby and stored in the reservoir. An axially sliding cam shaft controls valves which may be opened by varying amounts to control the speed and direction of rotation of the drive motor. The combustion mixture ratio is non-variable, being run directly from the compressor drive shaft.

摘要: Non-pollution motor units, wherein a cryogenic liquid, such as liquid nitrogen, is evaporated to drive a gas motor, the gas motor in turn driving an alternator (electrical generator) the output from which is used to drive an electric drive motor. The electric drive motor and alternator are operated at very low temperatures so that their operating characteristics are greatly improved, evaporation of the cryogenic liquid being used to achieve the cooling. In the motor units, the gas motor, alternator and electric drive motor are preferably mounted within an insulated case or housing cooled by flowing the cryogenic liquid therethrough. The electric drive motor is useful to drive any driven equipment, of whatever character, without pollution of the environment.
