摘要： Disclosed is a dasher-boards assembly with capability to absorb impacts of players crashing into the boards. The glass pane surmounting the boards can tip away from the ice, against a spring, and then resiliently return to its normal (upright) position. The spring is a bar-spring, which not only is deflectable to provide the resilience, but also has the capability to support and position the pane with respect to the dasher-board. The bar-spring can be used when the pane is flush-mounted with respect to the dasher-board, or when the pane is set-back from the ice-side of the dasher-board.

摘要： An energy absorbing sports board assembly that is not fixed to the floor of the arena but is allowed to move relative to the arena floor. The system utilizes vertical and horizontal tension to return the structure to its original position after deflection from impact from within the playing surface of the sports arena. The bottom portion, which is covered with a dasher board, rotates relative to the see-through material making up the top portion (glass). Because the sports board system is not attached to the floor of the arena, hockey players sliding along the ice during a hockey game are protected from concussion and paralyzing injuries to a greater extent than current systems which are fixed to the arena floor. The flexible connection between panels allows one or more panels to slide outward from the playing surface on impact.

摘要： A dasher board assembly, particularly well-suited for an ice hockey rink, includes a number of advantageous structures including an ice dam (ice retainer), puck rebound facilitator backing a kickplate, and a unitary rigid L-shaped anchoring device for the dasher board frame. The ice dam has a main body component and a lip upstanding from the body a distance sufficient to assist in blocking moisture movement past the dasher board and to provide an open space. The rigid L-shaped anchoring device is connected by fasteners to vertical elements of the dasher board frame, and to the ice dam body, to provide stable mounting of the frame. The puck rebound facilitator may be a buckling elastomeric tube that is essentially rigid when a hockey puck impacts the kickplate but buckles to absorb the force of impact if a hockey player strikes the dasher board.

Known half-pipe cutters are inaccurate and limited in height which limits the quality of the formed snow course. The apparatus comprises a frame which comprises an attachment for a self-actuated vehicle and a tool member adapted to the cross-sectional shape of the terrain feature; at least one primary forming surface, such as a belt, running over a working surface of the tool member to form the terrain feature; at least one secondary forming surface, in the form of a heated bar and finishing mats, to contact the formed terrain feature and provide a finish to its surface; and a guidance device, such as a laser guided device, to determine the position of the tool member with respect to the terrain surface.

摘要： A display system for ice rinks comprises a panel having at least one enclosure containing a plurality of LEDs for displaying any indicia or images etc. The panel is adapted to be placed under the ice when in use. The panel is provided with a cooling apparatus for circulating a coolant through the at least one enclosure to remove heat generated by the LEDs. In one aspect, the panel includes at least one channel, within which a plurality of light emitting diodes, LEDs, are provided. The LEDs are controlled to display any indicia or images from under the ice when the panel is in use. The panel includes a manifold system for distributing a coolant through the channels so as to dissipate any heat generated by the LED, thereby, avoiding affecting the temperature of the ice.

The ramp can have a plurality of ramp sections assembled together to create a ramp. A table is designed to be used with ramps and other components and includes openings facilitating installation of a grind rail or a support rail. The table surface includes a peripheral coping. A grind rail includes legs with arcuate bottoms to facilitate support of a grind rail regardless of angulation. Curved sections of grind rails allow lateral and vertical curvature of a grind rail configuration. Connectors are provided to interconnect adjacent grind rail sections.

A grind rail system includes support legs with arcuate bottoms to facilitate safe support of a grind rail regardless of angulation.
