摘要： A drain box assembly for a convertible splash pad/ice rink structure comprises a housing having an open top and a closed bottom, sidewalls connecting the top and bottom of the housing in fluid sealing relation to form within the housing a vertically directed water flow channel that connects a water ingress port and a water egress port in fluid communication one with the other. Connectors operatively secure the housing at the water egress port to a drain pipe. A plurality of coolant pipe segments each have an axis of symmetry extending between a first open end and a second open end. The coolant pipe segments are mounted on the housing to extend through the vertically directed water flow channel adjacent the open top, in substantially transverse relation to the vertical water flow channel. The first and second open ends of each coolant pipe segment extend beyond the one or more upright walls.

摘要： A modular assembled artificial skating rink includes a refrigerating system, a plurality of liquid-supply main pipes and air-return main pipes in the same pipe line as the liquid-supply main pipes. The liquid-supply main pipes communicate with a liquid-supply header pipe. The air-return main pipes communicate with an air-return. header pipe. The liquid-supply header pipe communicates with a refrigerant-fluid outlet of the refrigerating system through at least a liquid-supply standpipe. The air-return header pipe communicates with an air-recovery end of the refrigerating system through at least an air-return standpipe. Each liquid-supply main pipe is sheathed in a corresponding air-return main pipe, forming a plurality of groups of sleeve main pipes. The artificial skating rink is divided into different modular regions. Each of the regions has sleeve manifolds and ice-making pipes. Each liquid-supply main pipe has a refrigerant-fluid control valve bank, and each air-return main pipe has an air control valve bank.

摘要： A CO2 refrigeration system comprising a transfer circuit for heat exchange between a supracompression circuit of CO2 refrigerant, and an evaporation circuit of CO2 refrigerant. A transfer circuit absorbs heat from the evaporation circuit, and releases heat to the supracompression circuit. The supracompression circuit comprises a compression stage in which CO2 refrigerant is compressed, a cooling stage in which the CO2 refrigerant from the compression stage releases heat, and a pressure-regulating unit in a line between the cooling stage and the evaporation heat exchanger to maintain a pressure differential therebetween. The evaporation circuit receives CO2 refrigerant having released heat in the condensation heat exchanger. The evaporation circuit comprises a condensation reservoir in which CO2 refrigerant is accumulated in a liquid state, and an evaporation stage in which the CO2 refrigerant from the condensation reservoir absorbs heat to cool an ice-playing surface.

摘要： A floor system having the versatility to be used for ice or in-line skating, ice, in-line, or floor hockey, or any other of a whole host of activities. The floor system includes a number of floor elements that extend the length of the playing or skating surface. The floor elements are interlocked with its adjacent floor elements to form a completed continuous upper planar surface. Supports, having fluid channels therein, support the planar upper surface a fixed distance from a foundation. The upper planar surface has a plurality of holes therein to permit fluid communication between the passages below the upper surface and the region immediately above the upper surface. This arrangement enhances the strength of the ice surface as the water that freezes inside the holes prevents portions of the ice from shearing off. Ice level indicators are frozen within the ice to provide a visual warning when the layer of ice falls below a predetermined amount. Additionally, when the flooring system is used for in-line or floor hockey, forced air may be directed into the passages and through the holes to lower the friction between the projectile and the floor surface. When the flooring system is used outdoors in harsh environmental conditions for floor-based sports, a coolant can be pumped within the floor system to prolong the useful life and desired characteristics of the flooring system.
