A method and device for position detection are disclosed. A self-capacitance detection can be performed by a sensing device. According to the result of the self-capacitance detection, a first mutual-capacitance detection can be performed for determining one or more first 1-D positions. According to the result of the first mutual-capacitance detection, a second mutual-capacitance detection can be performed for determining one or more second 1-D positions corresponding to each first 1-D position. One or more 2-D positions can be provided according to the one or more second 1-D positions corresponding to each first 1-D position. Besides, during the self-capacitance detection, the first mutual-capacitance detection, and the second mutual-capacitance detection, a touch related sensing information corresponding to a touch that covers a wide area can be neglected for palm rejection.

The disclosed capacitive sensing device has first conductive lines, second conductive lines and electrical conductors. The first conductive lines are electrically isolated from each other, the second conductive lines are electrically isolated from each other and electrically isolated from and stacked with the first conductive lines to form numerous intersecting points, and the electrical conductors are electrically isolated from each other and correspondingly crossing the first and the second conductive lines and being around the intersecting points. Herein, the electrical conductors are electrically isolated from the first and second conductive lines. When an electrical signal is driven to a first conductive line, the first conductive line is capacitive coupled to the second conductive lines which intersecting mutually, and the electrical conductors crossing the first conductive line are respectively capacitive coupled to the first conductive line and the mutually intersecting second conductive lines to provide a higher compound capacitance.

The plurality of first signal sources are disposed along the first and the second portions to emit the signals configured to detect a coordinate in a first direction. Described is a device and a method for determining a touch position on a sensing area of a capacitive touch panel. In the device and method, an alternating current (AC) scan signal having a frequency and a current value is supplied to each of four corners of the capacitive touch panel. Next, the frequencies of the AC scan signals are each rapidly switched among a group of specific frequencies. The current values of the AC scan signals detected. In response, a group of selected frequencies is selected according to a noise filtering procedure from the group of specific frequencies based on the current values. Final current values are obtained by calculating the current values of the AC scan signals of the group of selected frequencies. Finally, the touch position on the capacitive touch panel is determined based on the final current values.
