Abstract:
Disclosed is a process for producing olefin oligomer from olefins having not less than 6 carbon atoms in the presence of a reaction mixture of an aluminum halide and a secondary or tertiary alcohol in the stated equivalent proportions. The olefin oligomers thus obtained have a high kinematic viscosity, a low pour point, a high viscosity index and a good shear stability.
Abstract:
A circularly polarized wave-linearly polarized wave transducer using a waveguide characterized by expanding the inner wall of the section vertical to the tube axis of the waveguide in a taper form having a gradient in the axial direction of the tube. The taper gradient in the axial direction of the tube is different at plural parts in the circumferential direction of the inner wall, thereby producing a difference in the propagation constant of two modes orthogonal at a microwave frequency. The taper gradient and overall length of the waveguide are determined so that the phase difference of the two modes is .pi./4 at each end of the waveguide. The circularly polarized wave-linearly polarized wave transducer can be realized in a simple construction in which the core of a die in the die-casting process can be drawn out in only one direction.
Abstract:
A multibeam antenna for simultaneously receiving waves from one or more communication satellites and a broadcast satellite, which are apart in their stationary orbit positions over the equator, is disclosed. The antenna employs an offset parabolic face, used as a reflector for receiving satellite broadcast waves, a converter having a primary radiator for receiving communication satellite Waves set at the focus point of the offset parabolic face, and a converter having a primary radiator for receiving broadcast satellite waves set near the envelope of the broadcast waves reflected from the offset parabolic face. The offset parabolic face is pointed in the direction of the communication satellite such that the plane of symmetry of the offset parabolic face is coincident with a plane specified by the communication satellite, the broadcast satellite, and the receiving point of the antenna. By utilizing this arrangement, an antenna that is relatively inexpensive to manufacture and is easily installable and adjustable may be obtained.

A waveguide-microstripline transformer comprises a waveguide which is closed at one end and has a slit at a side wall thereof, a dielectric substrate plate placed on the slit, a microstripline placed on the dielectric substrate plate, and a shield case covering the dielectric substrate plate, whereby less blocking of the incident electromagnetic wave is attained.

A coupling engagement mechanism for an electric connector comprises engagement fixtures and an insulating housing element which includes engagement fixture receiving portions for accommodating the engagement fixtures. Each of the engagement fixtures is unitarily formed of a springy metal plate. An engagement portion which engages an abutting portion of a mating connector is formed at one end of a body of each engagement fixture. A manipulation portion is formed at the other end of the body. Elastic pieces whose upper ends are continuous to the body and which extend downwards are formed on both right and left sides of the body. Each of the elastic pieces is formed with, at least, a first coming-off-preventive bend and a second coming-off-preventive bend at a predetermined interval in a direction of the extension. Each engagement fixture receiving portion of the insulating housing element is formed with a first protuberance and a second protuberance at an interval in the extending direction. When the engagement fixture is inserted into the engagement fixture receiving portion, the first coming-off-preventive bend and the second coming-off-preventive bend are held between the first protuberance and the second protuberance, whereby the engagement fixture is fitted and fixed in the insulating housing element.

A frequency stabilized oscillator includes a rectangular resonant cavity having a ground or short circuit wall, an H wall, and a top wall having an inductive window therein. A solid-state oscillating device such as a GUNN diode is attached at one end thereof to the short circuit wall, and a disk type dielectric resonator is supported from the short circuit wall and is located substantially adjacent the solid-state oscillating device so as to electromagnetically couple with the oscillating device. The inductive window is located so as to be in substantially overlying relationship with the dielectric resonator. A strip conductor is attached to the upper end of the oscillating device and extends through the H wall to the exterior of the oscillator to thereby provide a DC supply terminal for the oscillating device. The H wall of the resonant cavity is isolated from the DC supply applied to the strip conductor by means of a thin insulating layer between the strip conductor and the H wall. The capacitance formed between the strip conductor and the H wall is increased by increasing the width of the strip conductor at portions thereof which pass through the H wall. Thereby, the oscillator energy effectively passes directly through the strip conductor and the insulating layer back to the resonant cavity, while at the same time, preventing the DC supply applied to the oscillating device from being applied to the H wall.

A mode transformer for a waveguide and microstrip lines capable of obtaining sufficient cross polarization isolation and a receiving converter comprising the same is provided. Transformers of horizontal and vertical polarized waves comprise orthogonal first and second microstrip lines and a circular waveguide. By placing a metal bar connected to the waveguide between the first and second microstrip lines, the metal bar has the ground potential which is the same as the potential of the circular input waveguide and the electric fields excited in the first and second microstrip lines have a polarity that move toward the direction of the metal bar, so that electric field coupling of the first and second microstrip lines may be avoided.

On a terminal end plane of a circular waveguide, metal columnar blocks and a cross shaped branching transforming unit for branching two orthogonal linear polarized waves and transforming from circular TE.sub.11 mode to rectangular TE.sub.10 mode are disposed, and two rectangular waveguides are composed so as to form an angle of 45 degrees to the vertical axis and horizontal axis, that is, symmetrically to the axial center of the circular waveguide, in an electric field direction of the first linear polarized wave and an electric field direction of the second linear polarized wave. In this constitution, the orthogonal polarized wave branching filter of the microwave band for satellite communications can be reduced in size, and moreover the principal components can be formed integrally by an injection molding process.

A linear-circular polarizer used for the transmission in the microwave band, which provides excellent impedance characteristics and stabilized cross polarization characteristics by having 1/4 wavelength phase plates and the inner surface of a circular waveguide made in one-piece for the purpose of cost and production step reduction. The linear-circular polarizer includes a pair of 1/4 wavelength phase plates of a specified width and height formed opposite to each other and symmetric with respect to the waveguides central axis. The 1/4 wavelength phase plates are formed on the inner surface of a circular waveguide at a closed end opposite to an end where a primary radiator is located.
Abstract:
By the extraction of the noise component from the FM demodulated output and the detection thereof, the output proportional to the noise power is obtained, and it is indicated as the CN ratio of the received signal. This quality indication of the received signal makes the antenna pointing angle adjustment easier than before, and also realizes the picture quality indication for a satellite broadcasting receiver.
