    摘要: A color liquid crystal display device comprising a color filter having a structure including a black matrix BM formed on a transparent substrate, a colored layer FIL colored into at least three primary colors and formed by thermal dye transfer technology, a protective area for protecting against dye diffusion filling the gaps between the colored patterns, a transparent protective overcoat PSV2 formed on the colored layer and a transparent conductive electrode ITO2 formed on the transparent protective overcoat. The protective area against dye diffusion is constituted of a not-colored part FIL(T) of a dye receiving layer, protective overcoats PSV2 and PSV3, or of a black matrix with a high heat resistance. Moreover, the protective film is made from a metal-containing organic silicon compound that can be hardened by light or heat.

    摘要: A liquid crystal display includes a pair of substrates including at least one transparent substrate, a liquid crystal layer arranged between the substrates, a plurality of electrodes formed on at least one of the substrates to apply an electric field to the liquid crystal layer, a plurality of active elements connected to the electrodes, an alignment layer formed on the surface of each of the substrates in contact with the liquid crystal layer, and an optical means formed on at least one of the substrates to change the optical characteristics in accordance with the alignment condition of the particles of the liquid crystal layer. The taper angle at the ends of the electrodes is larger than 45 degrees but less than 90 degrees.

    摘要: A display data RAM has a storage area and a pre-charging circuit section. The storage area has LCD bit lines to be used for reading out display data stored in memory cells. The pre-charging circuit section has pre-charging lines and preset lines. Pieces of information of a particular order bit among the display data stored in the memory cells can be read out by supplying a potential to a selected one of the pre-charging lines. As a result, the power consumption of the display driver can be reduced.

    摘要: The invention provides a first pair of bit lines BM and {overscore (BM)} that read data from a specified one of memory cells in a memory cell column, and a second pair of bit lines BS and {overscore (BS)} that write data in another specified one of the memory cells in the memory cell column include a display read line that successively reads out display data from the memory cell column. As viewed in a plan view, the display read line is disposed between the pair of bit lines BS and {overscore (BS)}. Potentials of signals that are transmitted through the pair of bit lines BS and {overscore (BS)} are in a mutually opposite relationship. Therefore, even when coupling capacitors are formed between the pair of bit lines BS and {overscore (BS)} and the display read line, the charges that are charged and discharged between the capacitances and the display read line are offset, and therefore the signal potential on the display read line does not deteriorate.
