Abstract:
A method and apparatus for executing an application are provided. The method of executing an application may include: measuring internal air pressure in an electronic device by using a barometer; receiving a user input of applying a force to an external surface of the electronic device by using the barometer, and detecting a value of variation of the internal air pressure, the variation occurring due to the force; and performing a preset operation of the electronic device based on the detected value of the variation of the internal air pressure.
Abstract:
A user terminal apparatus is provided. The user terminal apparatus includes a storage configured to store usage history data of an application which is installed in the user terminal apparatus and a processor configured to extract usage history data related to a user interaction from the stored usage history data, and determine whether to inactivate the application based on the extracted usage history data. Accordingly, the efficiency of resources and battery of the user terminal apparatus is improved and thus, user convenience is also enhanced.
Abstract:
A method of determining a distance between devices, including receiving, by a device, a first signal from a target device, the first signal being associated with a first intensity; receiving, from a reference device located at a predetermined distance from the target device, intensity information corresponding to a second intensity associated with a second signal received by the reference device from the target device; and determining a distance between the device and the target device based on the first intensity and the intensity information corresponding to the second intensity.
Abstract:
A method of performing user authentication in an image forming apparatus, the method including detecting whether an interruption or a failure has occurred during authentication using an external authentication server; providing a user interface (UI) screen image for selecting to retry the authentication using the external authentication server or to enter a temporary authentication mode that does not use the external authentication server; when it is selected to enter the temporary authentication mode, entering an administrator authentication mode or an internal authentication mode based on pre-set temporary authentication options; and receiving information necessary for authentication and performing authentication based on a current authentication mode.
Abstract:
A device and method of managing power are provided. The device includes a user input unit configured to receive a user input from a user, an output unit configured to output information based on the user input, and a controller configured to, when the user input is not received, determine whether or not an out-focus status in which the user does not use the device has started, determine, when it is determined that the out-focus status has started, a period in which the out-focus status is to be maintained based on information about a probability of the out-focus status according to a context of the device, and stop, when the period in which the out-focus status is to be maintained is equal to or greater than a reference time period, an application executed in the device.
Abstract:
A user terminal and a control method thereof are provided. The control method of a user terminal includes registering a first point, acquiring movement information of the user terminal using a motion sensor when the user terminal moves from the first point to a second point, and providing a user interface (UI) for guiding to the first point on the basis of the movement information if a user command for a return is input. As a result, the user terminal makes it possible to provide the route guidance service to a destination by tracking the moving route of the user terminal when the global positioning system (GPS) signal may not be received.
Abstract:
A user terminal apparatus is provided. The user terminal apparatus includes a sensor configured to sense a movement of the user terminal apparatus, a storage configured to store a plurality of movement patterns and place information for each time period matching with each movement pattern, and a processor configured to, in response to the movement sensed by the sensor corresponding to one of the plurality of movement patterns, determine a place where the user terminal apparatus is located using a movement pattern corresponding to the sensed movement and place information matching with a present time.
Abstract:
A device is provided. The device includes an accelerometer configured to measure an acceleration of the device, a controller configured to acquire acceleration data of the device in a first time period and a second time period adjacent to the first time period from the accelerometer, determine a first movement state of a user in the first time period based on the acceleration data corresponding to the first time period, and determine a second movement state of the user in the second time period in consideration of the acceleration data corresponding to the second time period and the determined first movement state, and a display configured to display the first movement state and the second movement state.
Abstract:
A system for providing a life log service and a method of providing the life log service. The computing device for providing the life log service includes: a display which displays a map in a first display area and which displays like content in a second display area; and a processor including a content generator which generates the life content of a user based on a current position of the computing device, and a controller, which, in response to the generated live content, updates the second display area in real time to display the generated life content and updates the map in the first display area to display a path synchronized with the generated life content.
Abstract:
A terminal apparatus and a method for time synchronization are provided. The method includes setting a reference time for a time synchronization with another terminal apparatus, transmitting a sync signal comprising the set reference time to the other terminal apparatus, and if a response signal to the sync signal is received from the other terminal apparatus, performing the time synchronization with the other terminal apparatus based on a transmission time of the sync signal and a reception time of the response signal. Therefore, a terminal apparatus further simply and rapidly performs a time synchronization with another terminal apparatus.
