    Abstract: A 5G or pre-5G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate beyond a 4G communication system such as long-term evolution (LTE) is provided, including a method for performing device to device (D2D) discovery by a user equipment (UE), which is out of the coverage area serviced by a base station, in a wireless communication network. The method includes the operations of receiving pre-configuration information for transmitting a discovery message, and transmitting the discovery message in a transmission resource determined on the basis of the pre-configuration information, wherein the pre-configuration information includes a list of pools for transmitting the discovery message, and the transmission resource is determined from the list of pools.

    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a 5th generation (5G) or pre-5G communication system for supporting higher data rates than a 4th generation (4G) communication system such as long term evolution (LTE). A method for positioning a user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system includes receiving a reference signal (RS) in a first bandwidth from each of a plurality of anchor nodes scheduled for RS transmission by a network server, determining whether a path overlap has occurred between the UE and the anchor nodes based on symmetry of channel impulse responses of the received RSs, transmitting a bandwidth extension request message to the network server, upon occurrence of a path overlap, receiving an RS in a second bandwidth larger than the first bandwidth from each of the plurality of anchor nodes in response to the transmission of the bandwidth extension request message, and generating information required to position the UE, using the RSs received in the second bandwidth.

The method for device to device communication according to the present disclosure comprises: a step of receiving, by a terminal, search data from search resources for relay search within a specified search-receiving resource pool, and decoding the same; a step of measuring, by the terminal, link qualities of the search resources which deliver demodulation reference signals, from the search resources corresponding to successfully decoded search data; and a step of filtering a link quality corresponding to an identifier of a specific relay among the measured link qualities.

    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a communication scheme and system which fuse a 5G communication system for supporting a higher data transfer rate than a 4G system with IoT technology, and a system thereof. The present disclosure may be applied to smart services such as smart homes, smart buildings, smart cities, smart cars or connected cars, healthcare, digital education, retail businesses, security and safety services, etc., based on 5G communication technologies and IoT related technologies. The communication method with a device according to the present invention comprises the steps of: transmitting information on frequency hopping settings to the device; and receiving, from the device, an uplink signal which hops frequencies according to the frequency hopping settings, wherein the frequency hopping settings are configured in a way that the uplink signal hops frequencies according to hopping patterns which hop according to frequency hopping steps, and to additional mirroring hopping patterns which are respectively inserted between the hopping patterns.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a communication technique for converging IoT technology with a 5G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate than that of a 4G system and subsequent systems, and a system thereof. The present invention provides a method and a device for transmitting a synchronization signal for device-to-device (D2D) communication. According to the present invention, a first terminal receives a D2D synchronization signal (D2DSS) and a physical D2D synchronization channel (PD2DSCH) corresponding to the D2DSS from a second terminal, and transmits the D2DSS to the second terminal according to a method preassigned with the second terminal so as to indicate that the first terminal has successfully received the D2DSS or the PD2DSCH.

    Abstract: A communication method of a device to device (D2D) user equipment (UE) in a cellular system supporting a communication frame structure including one or more subframes used for a communication of the D2D UE is provided. The method includes reading an alarm region located within a first subframe, wherein the alarm region indicates whether a communication signal having a priority is included in the first subframe or a second subframe related to the first subframe, and transmitting the communication signal through one of the second subframe and a third subframe related to the second subframe, based on information read from the alarm region.
