    Abstract: A display panel includes a display unit with a first area and a second area, first gate lines on the first area and the second area that extend in a first direction in the first area and in a third direction in the second area, while sections extending in the first direction and in a second direction are repeated, and second gate lines on the second area that extend in the third direction while sections extending in the first direction and in the second direction are repeated. The second gate line includes a plurality of sub gate lines that extend in the second direction in the second area, and one end of each of the plurality of sub gate lines is connected to one end of each of the plurality of second gate lines.

    Abstract: A display device includes a first substrate; a plurality of gate lines arranged in a row direction on the first substrate; a plurality of data lines arranged in a column direction intersecting the row direction; and a plurality of pixels formed in a plurality of pixel areas defined by the gate and data lines, the plurality of pixels comprising at least a first pixel and a second pixel repectively disposed in a first pixel area and a second pixel area that are immediately adjacent to each other. Each of the first and second pixels comprises a thin film transistor electrically connected to the gate and data lines, and a pixel electrode electrically connected to the thin film transistor. The data lines are disposed-apart by different distances from each other in the column direction. Each of the first and second pixel areas comprises a first edge portion adjacent to one of the gate lines and a second edge portion adjacent to another of the gate lines, a lengh of the first edge portion being greater than a lengh of the second edge portion.     Abstract: In a liquid crystal display (LCD), a thickness of a passivation layer overlapping signal lines is larger than a thickness of portion of the passivation layer not overlapping signal lines. A spacer may be formed to overlap the signal lines. In an aperture region of the LCD, a thickness of the passivation layer between a common electrode and a pixel electrode is relatively small, and therefore, it may be possible to prevent reduction in the intensity of the electric field between the common electrode and the pixel electrode. Since thickness of the passivation layer may be relatively large, it may be possible to prevent a signal delay of common voltage. A spacer may be formed overlapping signal lines with relatively thick passivation layer. The spacer may have a small height. Cell gap may be adjusted to be uniform, and prevent reduction in aperture ratio of the LCD.

Each of the stretching units includes: a plurality of islands separately disposed to include a plurality of pixels disposed therein; a plurality of bridges extended from the islands to connect adjacent islands or to connect the islands with the peripheral area; and a plurality of openings disposed adjacent to the bridges, between the bridges, and between the bridges and the islands, wherein areas of the islands are gradually increased toward the peripheral area.
