Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that provide for call continuity following radio link failure (RLF) through re-establishment of a voice call using a same or different radio access technology (RAT) before the call is dropped. Upon detection of RLF on a connection supporting a voice call, a UE may initiate a drop call timer and scan for available connections. The voice call may be attempted to be re-established if a connection is available on using a RAT of an existing connection. The voice call in such cases may continue without the call being dropped. Upon expiration of the drop call timer, the UE may attempt to establish a connection using a RAT identified during the duration of the drop call timer.

Abstract: Device-to-device operations are scheduled based on receive and transmit pools that may have a conflict in time domain. In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus for resolving time domain conflict in device-to-device communication are provided. The apparatus may compute a first block rate metric for a first device-to-device communication on a first frequency and a second block rate metric for a second device-to-device communication on a second frequency. The apparatus may detect a time-domain conflict between the first device-to-device communication on the first frequency and the second device-to-device communication on the second frequency. The apparatus may prioritize the first device-to-device communication on the first frequency and the second device-to-device communication on the second frequency based on the first block rate metric and the second block rate metric.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment may determine a mode in which the user equipment is enabled, wherein the mode is one of a non-standalone mode, a standalone mode, or a standalone mode and a non-standalone mode; determine whether to prioritize a first set of frequencies associated with a first radio access technology (RAT) or a second set of frequencies associated with a second RAT based at least in part on the mode in which the user equipment is enabled, wherein the first RAT is different from the second RAT; and perform a search of the first set of frequencies or the second set of frequencies based at least in part on whether the first set of frequencies or the second set of frequencies is prioritized. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described for inter-RAT mobility from a first radio access technology (RAT) to a second RAT, including cases in which different RATs correspond to different generations of networks. Approaches described herein include providing a preemptive indication of inter-RAT mobility for one or more geographic areas such to a user equipment (UE). The UE can thus use a mobility procedure to transition from the first RAT to the second RAT that is supported in the UE's location without first attempting an unsupported mobility procedure, reducing transition latency.

Abstract: Techniques are described for wireless communication. A base station may indicate to a UE, in a pre-wakeup period, whether the base station will transmit a grant to the UE. The pre-wakeup period may occur at the beginning of a DRX cycle. The base station may transmit an indication of a grant to the UE, and the base station may indicate a time period during which the UE may wake up to receive the grant. The indication may include scheduling information for the grant. The UE may select a DRX mode based on a configuration received from the base station, a traffic pattern, or scheduling history. The UE may monitor for the grant, and receive the grant. In other examples, the UE or the base station may identify that the grant was not received, and may reset a DRX cycle based on the identification.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment may determine that a base station, associated with a first radio access technology, is shared between one or more operator networks of a second radio access technology; and display an icon corresponding to the second radio access technology based at least in part on a particular operator network, of the one or more operator networks, being a registered operator network of the user equipment and being associated with the second radio access technology. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Abstract: Aspects relate to methods and apparatus for dedicated bearer (DB) establishment handling during call setup for long term evolution. According to aspects, a method is provided herein for wireless communications that may be performed, for example, by a user equipment (UE). The method generally includes establishing a connection with a first access point (AP) to perform a call set up procedure for a call; receiving from the first AP a message associated with handover to a second AP; delaying giving up the call setup procedure for a duration if the message includes or is associated with an indication to release a dedicated bearer; and allowing establishment of a DB with the second AP during the duration. Consequently, the DB can be established with the second AP, without the UE giving up the call setup, and the call can be performed, thus improving user experience. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Abstract: Systems, apparatus and methods for facilitating identification and/or acquisition of an access point are provided. Methods can include transmitting or receiving access point information (“API”) indicative of an identification of the access point (“AP”). The API can be provided at the AP through hardwiring or receipt of configuration information input by a user or transmitted to the AP by a network operator through Over-The-Air (“OTA”) signaling. The API can be computer-readable and, in some embodiments, the API can also be human-readable. The API can be transmitted on a paging channel from which user equipment (“UE”) can receive information. The frequency at which the API is transmitted can be fixed, dynamic and/or configurable. Upon receipt of the API, acquisition of the AP is attempted if the AP is determined to be a permitted AP.

Abstract: A base station may transmit to a user equipment (UE) one or more indices corresponding to one or more carrier aggregation (CA) band combinations via a UE capability request. The transmitted UE capability requests may include an identifier that corresponds to the UE or the capability procedure between the UE and the base station. Then the UE may respond to the request by including the identifier and an indication of its capability corresponding to the transmitted indices in a UE capability response. Additionally the UE may include an aggregation indicator which signals to the network that the UE's capabilities are to be aggregated with additional indications of UE capability received in other UE capability responses that also include the identifier. Subsequent UE capability responses that include the identifier and an indication that the UE's capabilities may be aggregated will be combined with previously received UE capabilities.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment may receive sensor information from a sensor associated with the user equipment, wherein the user equipment is in a deep sleep mode when the sensor information is received. The user equipment may deactivate the deep sleep mode, based at least in part on receiving the sensor information, to permit the user equipment to transmit or decode a network communication.
