Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described in which a user equipment (UE) may wake up from a sleep mode of a discontinuous reception (DRX) cycle based on receipt of uplink data. The UE may determine if an elapsed time between a prior receipt of one or more reference signals and an uplink transmission to the base station after waking up from the sleep mode is less than a threshold time value. If the elapsed time is less than the threshold time value, the UE may transmit an uplink transmission associated with the received uplink data prior to receiving one or more reference signals that may be used to update transmission parameters for uplink transmissions. If the elapsed time is at or above the threshold value, the UE may wait to receive the one or more reference signals and update the transmission parameters prior to the uplink transmission.

In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may determine a limit on a number of resource blocks (RBs) permitted to be used for a vehicle-to-everything (V2X) transmission by the UE; may determine, based at least in part on the limit, one or more parameters for the V2X transmission, wherein the one or more parameters include at least one of a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) for the V2X transmission, a number of transport blocks (TBs) for the V2X transmission, a number of RBs per TB for the V2X transmission, or a retransmission configuration for the V2X transmission; and may transmit the V2X transmission based at least in part on the one or more parameters. The UE may calibrate a wireless transceiver chain of the first device in a second set of resources. The second set of resources excludes the first set of resources and includes at least a portion of a third set of resources. The third set of resources are resource in which the first device has an option to transmit or receive communications based on a protocol configuration.

A user equipment (UE) may receive, from a network entity, one or more control signals indicating information associated with a set of occasions for a transmission time interval (TTI) corresponding to a low power operation mode of the UE. For example, the set of occasions may include one or more of a wake up signal (WUS) monitoring occasion, a synchronization signal block (SSB) occasion, a channel state information (CSI) reporting occasion, and a discontinuous reception (DRX) on duration occasion. The UE may determine whether to skip the WUS monitoring occasion based on a respective duration and a respective start time for each occasion of the set of occasions associated with the information indicated by the one or more control signals.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. For example, the described techniques provide for a user equipment (UE) to predict a gain state for an initial acquisition procedure. For example, the UE may use a machine learning (ML) model to predict an initial gain state which is likely to result in a successful initial acquisition procedure (e.g., without adjusting the gain state and reattempting the initial acquisition procedure). The UE may input UE history data or crowdsourced data (e.g., from a local network or a cloud-based server) into the ML model to generate a predicted gain state which may be more likely to result in a successful initial acquisition (e.g., without reattempting the initial acquisition procedure). The UE may use the initial gain state generated by the ML model to attempt an initial acquisition procedure with a network entity.
