    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described in which a user equipment (UE) may wake up from a sleep mode of a discontinuous reception (DRX) cycle based on receipt of uplink data. The UE may determine if an elapsed time between a prior receipt of one or more reference signals and an uplink transmission to the base station after waking up from the sleep mode is less than a threshold time value. If the elapsed time is less than the threshold time value, the UE may transmit an uplink transmission associated with the received uplink data prior to receiving one or more reference signals that may be used to update transmission parameters for uplink transmissions. If the elapsed time is at or above the threshold value, the UE may wait to receive the one or more reference signals and update the transmission parameters prior to the uplink transmission.

A multi-antenna user equipment (UE) may communicate with a base station using a first antenna, determine to switch from the first antenna to a second antenna for communicating with the base station, determine a silence window in which communication with the base station is suspended, schedule the switch from the first antenna to the second antenna to occur during the silence window, and switch from the first antenna to the second antenna during the silence window.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive, from a network entity, one or more control signals indicating information associated with a set of occasions for a transmission time interval (TTI) corresponding to a low power operation mode of the UE. For example, the set of occasions may include one or more of a wake up signal (WUS) monitoring occasion, a synchronization signal block (SSB) occasion, a channel state information (CSI) reporting occasion, and a discontinuous reception (DRX) on duration occasion. The UE may determine whether to skip the WUS monitoring occasion based on a respective duration and a respective start time for each occasion of the set of occasions associated with the information indicated by the one or more control signals.
