Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are described for hierarchical communications and low latency support within a wireless communications system. An eNB and/or a UE may be configured to operate within the wireless communications system which is at least partially defined through a first layer with first layer transmissions having a first subframe type and a second layer with second layer transmissions having a second subframe type. The first subframe type may have a first round trip time (RTT) between transmission and acknowledgment of receipt of the transmission, and the second layer may have a second RTT that is less than the first RTT. Subframes of the first subframe type may be multiplexed with subframes of the second subframe type, such as through time division multiplexing. In some examples symbols of different duration may be multiplexed such that different symbol durations coexist.

Abstract: Methods and devices for discontinuous reception signaling for wireless communications systems are described. A base station may determine a semi-persistent scheduling (SPS) configuration and a discontinuous reception configuration (DRX) associated with the semi-persistent scheduling (SPS) configuration for a user equipment (UE). The base station may transmit the SPS configuration to the UE. The SPS configuration may indicate one or more DRX parameters for the DRX configuration. A UE may receive the semi-persistent scheduling configuration from the base station. The UE may identify one or more DRX parameters for the discontinuous reception configuration based on the SPS configuration. The UE may monitor a downlink control channel in accordance with the DRX configuration.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatuses for uplink channel transmission for multiple transmit receive points (TRPs). In one aspect, a user equipment (UE) resolves overlapping physical uplink control channels (PUCCHs) in a slot or overlapping PUCCH(s) and PUSCH(s) that are mapped to a same TRP in a multi-TRP scenario and that are mapped to two or more different TRPs in the multi-TRP scenario. For example, in a multi-TRP scenario that includes two TRPs, the UE may eliminate overlap of these uplink channels for each of the two TRPs individually and may additionally eliminate overlap of these uplink channels between the two TRPs.

Abstract: Various procedures associated with autonomous uplink (AUL) are disclosed. In order to address the mismatch between listen before talk (LBT) and AUL bandwidth a fractional sensing channel is defined less than 20 MHz. Accordingly, a user equipment (UE) may use the fractional sensing channel to perform LBT only on the resources allocated for AUL. Contention window update may further be modified for transmissions spanning multiple transmission opportunities (TxOPs). A contention window update may occur over all transmission channels considering full acknowledgement information of each TxOP, a percentage of acknowledgement information weighted on the number of channels, a percentage of acknowledgement information weighted on the ratio of resources on each channel, or by selecting a primary channel of the multiple channels for the contention window update. In repetition scenarios, the reference transmission for contention window updates may be selected depending on whether all repetitions are within one or multiple TxOPs.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to efficiently exchanging data in power-limited wideband communications. A base station and a UE transmit some or all data using sub-band position modulation (SBPM), in which a select subset of frequency sub-bands carry the data transmission. At a given interval of the streamed data portion, a new subset of the sub-bands may be selected as the active sub-bands, thus modulating the active sub-band positions during the data transmission. A receiver monitors for the data transmission signal and detects the sub-bands on/off state in order to receive the data within the active sub-bands. This is “blind” detection—the entities exchange no control information indicating which sub-bands a given transmission uses. Further, SBPM includes pattern recognition by both devices in order to convey additional information each interval by selecting the positions of the active sub-bands to match the pattern associated with the information to be conveyed.
