    Abstract: A treatment device includes a vibrator capable of ultrasonically vibrating, a front mass portion having a first resonance frequency and connected to the vibrator in a manner capable of transmitting ultrasonic vibration, a treatment probe configured to treat a subject and having a second resonance frequency that is higher than the first resonance frequency of the front mass portion, and a connection portion connecting a distal end surface of the front mass portion and a proximal end surface of the treatment probe by a pressing force, and serving as an antinode position when vibrating at the first resonance frequency.

    Abstract: A vibration transmitter includes: a first rod including a fitting hole extending along the longitudinal axis thereof; and a second rod attached to a distal end portion of the first rod by a fitting portion fitted into the fitting hole in a state where a compressed surface pressure is received from the inner surface of fitting hole. The first rod includes: a first region in which the fitting portion is fitted into the fitting hole; and a second region positioned proximal of the first region. In the first region of the first rod, a crystal grain diameter is larger than that in the second region of the first rod.

    Abstract: A scanning-type device includes: an optical fiber; a vibration unit vibrating a distal end of the optical fiber in a direction perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the optical fiber; an outer tube accommodating the optical fiber and the vibration unit; and a support member supporting the vibration unit in the outer tube, the vibration unit having: a piezoelectric element expanding and contracting in the longitudinal-axis direction of the optical fiber; and a cylindrical vibration transmitting member disposed between the piezoelectric element and the optical fiber and transmitting expansion and contraction vibrations of the piezoelectric element to the optical fiber; the support member has a V-groove extending along a longitudinal axis of the outer tube to support the vibration transmitting member; and an outer surface of a section of the vibration transmitting member supported by the V-groove is a cylindrical surface extending along the longitudinal axis of the optical fiber.

    Abstract: The ultrasonic treatment instrument for articulations according to the embodiment of the present invention includes, at the distal end of the probe, the treatment section which performs a desired treatment on the treated target part. The treatment portion is provided with an edge which extends in a direction crossing, or a direction parallel to, the longitudinal direction of the probe; a first ultrasonic transducer which generates ultrasonic vibration in a direction crossing the edge; and a second ultrasonic transducer which generates ultrasonic vibration in a direction parallel, to the edge.
