Abstract: A long polarizing film laminate capable of producing a polarizer that can achieve the multi-functionalization and high-functionalization of an electronic device, such as an image display apparatus, that shows no variation in quality when provided as a final product, and that is excellent in yield in its production. A polarizing film laminate according to an embodiment of the present invention includes: a long polarizer; and a surface protective film arranged on one surface side of the polarizer. The polarizing film laminate has, on the one surface side, exposed portions where the polarizer is exposed. The exposed portions are arranged in a lengthwise direction and/or a widthwise direction of the polarizer at predetermined intervals.

Abstract: A long pressure-sensitive adhesive film, that can be suitably used as a surface protective film or mask at the time of the treatment of a predetermined portion of a long film. A pressure-sensitive adhesive film including a long resin film; and a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer arranged on one surface of the resin film. The pressure-sensitive adhesive film has through-holes that are arranged in a lengthwise direction and/or a widthwise direction at predetermined intervals, and that penetrate the resin film and the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer integrally.

Abstract: There is provided a polarizer that can realize multi-functionalization and high-functionalization of an electronic device, such as an image display apparatus. A polarizer according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a resin film containing iodine, wherein the polarizer has formed therein a transparent portion having a transmittance higher than that of another portion, and when the polarizer is placed under an environment having a temperature of 60° C. and a humidity of 90% for 2 hours, a transmittance change (ΔTs) of the transparent portion is 10% or less.

The iodine-based polarizer has a sufficiently high level of transmittance, degree of polarization, and other optical properties and can suppress light leakage in short-wavelength.

Abstract: A method of producing a long polarizer by which a polarizer serving as a final product that can achieve the multi-functionalization and high-functionalization of an electronic device, such as an image display apparatus, and that is free of any variation in quality can be produced at low cost and with high productivity. A method of producing a long polarizer having non-polarization portions according to an embodiment of the present invention includes; laminating, on one surface of a long polarizer, a long surface protective film having through-holes arranged in a lengthwise direction and/or a widthwise direction at predetermined intervals to form a long polarizing film laminate; partially decoloring the polarizer through the through-holes of the surface protective film to form the non-polarization portions; and removing the surface protective film.
