Abstract:
An optical, multi-resolution scanning apparatus for scanning transparent or opaque objects including a high resolution lens, a low resolution lens, a flip mirror switch which alternates between high resolution mode and low resolution mode of scanning, a flip mirror switch which alternates between transmissive mode and reflective mode of scanning whereby high and low resolution scanning of opaque and/or transparent objects may be accomplished through movement of flip mirror switches, without transverse movement of the lens assembly.
Abstract:
A stand alone flat bed scanner including a CPU, a removable storage medium, a control system displaying digital image and controls for controlling the mode of operation, degree of resolution, related parameters associated with generating, storing and displaying digital data. Ports for printers, accessories and other peripherals, an internal hard drive, and software adapted to display images directly on a television screen, including battery, and a pivotal handle for portable use in environments not having an external power supply.
Abstract:
The present invention provides for a compact media player capable of playing a variety of audio and visual data embedded in a variety of media data formats, including but not limited to CD, CD-R, CD-RW, VCD, DVD, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R, DVD+RW, and SD memory card. The player can also be used to receive TV broadcast signals and AM, FM and/or XM radio broadcast signals. In one embodiment, the compact media player can also perform computing functions. Also, the player of the present invention can be used as a means to transmit and receive media data to other media devices through A/V, USB and/or wireless interfaces. The player can also record incoming media data sources through those interfaces.

Abstract:
A transparency adapter for a flat bed scanner of the type commonly used as a stand-alone computer peripheral, including a source of light, either white light such as fluorescent, or a series of red, green and blue light emitting diodes placed in a generally rectangular housing having a length corresponding to the width of the glass platen of a flat bed scanner, and including magnets at either longitudinal end of the transparency adapter, further including magnets positioned on the carriage inside of the flat bed scanner housing, whereby the magnets of the carriage are aligned with the magnets of the transparency adapter so that upon advancement of the carriage along the rails inside of the scanner from one end of the scanner to the other, the magnetic force of the attached magnets causes the transparency adapter to advance along the top surface of the glass platen and to move the transparency adapter in alignment with the carriage.
Abstract:
An optical scanning apparatus for retrieving digital electronic images representative of opaque objects. The apparatus is equipped with a reflective scanning platform for supporting an opaque object thereon. A scanning camera, equipped with a light source for illuminating the platform, is aligned to retrieve images from objects placed upon the reflective scanning platform. An object sensor included with the scanning camera detects the presence of such images. Using the sensor during scanning, provides automotive detection of the end of the object thereby reducing the scan time.
Abstract:
A securing apparatus for an article, for example a film or slide, to be scanned in an image scanner has a top and a bottom cover. The top cover is provided with a top window permitting the scanning light emitting from the image scanner to pass therethrough. The bottom cover can be selectively collapsibly connected to the top cover. An insertion mechanism is changeably mounted between the top and bottom covers and is provided with a viewing window corresponding to the top window for securing the article between the windows. The windows permit the scanning light emitting from the image scanner to pass therethrough. The changeable insertion mechanism can be configured to accommodate any film or slide having different sizes or orientations.

A stand alone flat bed scanner including a CPU, a removable storage medium, a control system displaying digital image and controls for controlling the mode of operation, degree of resolution, related parameters associated with generating, storing and displaying digital data. Ports for printers, accessories and other peripherals, an internal hard drive, and software adapted to display images directly on a television screen, and/or to display images projected from an LCD projector upon a screen, including battery, and a pivotal handle for portable use in environments not having an external power supply. One embodiment, not including an incorporated flat bed scanner function, adapted to receive image data from a conventional scanner unit.
Abstract:
A transmissive/reflective optical scanner including a gravity assist optical switch that reconfigures a flat bed scanner adapted for transmissive scanning into a flat bed scanner adapted for reflective scanning.
