Abstract: A reflective quality of service QoS method and an apparatus are provided, to implement uplink layered QoS, and implement more refined uplink QoS management. The method includes: A terminal device determines to enable a first reflective QoS manner, and determines a first rule in the first reflective QoS manner. The first rule includes a QoS rule and/or a QoS flow to data radio bearer DRB mapping rule. The terminal device identifies classification information of a packet in the first reflective QoS manner, where the classification information is for distinguishing between packets in a same internet protocol IP flow.

Abstract: Embodiments of this application provide a communication method and apparatus. The method includes: A first device (for example, a terminal device or a network device) determines that a first data frame is lost. The first device discards a first data packet received from an upper layer, where the first data packet is a part of or all data packets in a second data frame, the second data frame is located after the first data frame, and the second data frame is associated with the first data frame. According to the method disclosed in this application, a data frame transmission failure is identified, and proactive discarding of a data packet in a subsequent data frame associated with the lost data frame is triggered, to avoid a waste of air interface resources and transmission resources, reduce execution of unnecessary decoding operations, and reduce power consumption of the device while improving resource utilization.
