    Abstract: One or more wireless stations operate to configure direct communication with neighboring mobile stations, e.g., direct communication between the wireless stations without utilizing an intermediate access point. A wireless station may enter an unsynchronized discovery mode, transmit, in response to receiving a subscribe message from a neighboring device, a publish message to the neighboring device, perform authentication and trusted device cluster provisioning with the neighboring wireless device, and protect transmissions using the security credentials. In the unsynchronized discovery mode, the wireless device may monitor a discovery channel for subscribe messages, e.g., from neighboring peer devices. Additionally, the trusted device cluster provisioning may provide security credentials to the wireless device. Note that protecting transmissions using the security credentials may include protecting a trusted device cluster identity, transmitted beacons, transmitted management frames, or transmitted action frames using the security credentials acquired via the trusted device cluster provisioning.

A wireless station may determine a further availability window schedule for a first time period, including specifying availability for particular channels at particular time slots at a first time slot increment. The wireless station may specify availability at a second time slot increment for a subset of the time slots specified at the first time slot increment. The second time slot increment may be less than the first slot time increment. The wireless station may negotiate, with a neighboring wireless station, a peer-to-peer communication schedule for the peer-to-peer communication application based on the further availability window schedule, including specifying a portion of the peer-to-peer schedule using the second time slot increment.

    Abstract: One or more wireless stations operate to configure direct communication with neighboring mobile stations, e.g., direct communication between the wireless stations without utilizing an intermediate access point. A wireless station may be configured to perform a method to accelerate discovery of a peer device after an out-of-band triggering event. For example, a wireless device may detect an out-of-band triggering event and activate a wireless interface capable of peer-to-peer communications in response. The wireless device may transmit one or more discovery messages (e.g., discovery beacons, active subscribe messages, and/or unsolicited publish messages) over the wireless interface immediately after activation of the wireless interface to aid in discovery of the peer device. The one or more discovery messages may be transmitted as service discovery frames. The wireless device may perform service discovery over the wireless interface with the peer device post discovery.

    Abstract: In embodiments, one or more wireless stations operate to configure direct communication with neighboring mobile stations, i.e., communication between the mobile stations without utilizing an intermediate access point. Configuration of NAN includes mapping of NAN clusters and multi-hop data routing within a NAN cluster. A wireless device may transmit a subscribe service discovery frame (SDF) to one or more neighboring wireless devices and receive a respective publish SDF from the one or more wireless devices, the respective publish SDF including respective wireless device information. The wireless device may maintain a data structure comprising the respective wireless device information. In some embodiments, the wireless device information may include an address, hop count, and/or service indications, e.g., for data routing and/or service discovery.
