摘要: In part, in one aspect, the disclosure relates to a system including an integrated optical multiplexer. The integrated optical multiplexer may include a plurality of optical inputs configured and constructed to receive input optical signals; two or more stages of multiplexing in a cascading configuration, wherein the two or more stages of multiplexing are divided into wavelength stages and a last stage, wherein each of the wavelength stages combine subsets of input optical signals by wavelength, the last stage combines input optical signals by polarization using a polarization beam combiner, and at a combined output of the integrated optical multiplexer a first subset of the input optical signals have a different polarization than a second subset of the input optical signals.

摘要: An integrated wavelength division multiplexer is described. The integrated wavelength division multiplexer may include a first waveguide core defining a first propagation axis and configured to guide light of a first wavelength and light of a second wavelength, and a second waveguide core defining a second propagation axis and configured to guide the light of the second wavelength. A first portion of the second propagation axis for which the first waveguide core and second waveguide core may be overlapping is oriented at a non-zero angle relative to the first propagation axis. The first waveguide core and second waveguide core may be configured relative to each other to adiabatically couple the light of the second wavelength between the first and second waveguide cores.

摘要: An optical Mach Zehnder modulator is described. The optical Mach Zehnder modulator may comprise a plurality of segments separated by curved waveguides. For example, an optical Mach Zehnder modulator may comprise a first waveguide arm having a first pn-junction formed therein, a second waveguide arm having a second pn-junction formed therein, a third waveguide arm coupled to the first waveguide arm via a first curved waveguide and a fourth waveguide arm coupled to the second waveguide arm via a second curved waveguide. The segments may have the same polarities. Alternatively, the segments may have opposite polarities. The different segments may be driven using different RF signals. The RF signals may be delayed from one another.
