Embodiments of the invention relate to a system for contactless cleaning of an object surface, a lithographic apparatus including the system, and a method of manufacturing a device. The system may include a He plasma source contained in a chamber and a control unit constructed to modify plasma parameters in use, such as the electron energy distribution of the plasma for causing an increase in formation of He metastables without modifying operational parameters of the plasma source. The control unit may include an electrical biasing unit constructed to apply a positive bias voltage to the object, for attracting free electrons from the plasma. The system may include a supplementary gas source, which may be either pre-mixed with He or be supplied from a further gas source. The supplementary gas may be selected based on a pre-knowledge on a type of particles to be expected on the surface of the object.

Described are methods of fabricating lithium sputter targets, lithium sputter targets, associated handling apparatus, and sputter methods including lithium targets. Various embodiments address adhesion of the lithium metal target to a support structure, avoiding and/or removing passivating coatings formed on the lithium target, uniformity of the lithium target as well as efficient cooling of lithium during sputtering. Target configurations used to compensate for non-uniformities in sputter plasma are described. Modular format lithium tiles and methods of fabrication are described. Rotary lithium sputter targets are also described.

A method and apparatus are provided for wirelessly delivering multi-channel content (106) from an electronic device (201), such as a MP3 player or mobile telephone having multi-media capabilities, to a user. A system (200) includes the electronic device (201), a first wireless loudspeaker device (100) and a second wireless loudspeaker device (205). One of the wireless loudspeaker devices (100) establishes a point-to-multipoint communication structure with the electronic device (201) and the other, matching wireless loudspeaker device (205). As such, the electronic device (201) is able to deliver multi-channel content (106) to the first wireless loudspeaker device (100) with a single transceiver (252). The wireless loudspeaker device (100) may then deliver single-channel content to a locally disposed loudspeaker (103). The wireless loudspeaker device (100) also transmits single-channel content (107) to the second wireless loudspeaker device (205). The wireless loudspeaker devices (100,205) are capable of negotiating an ascendancy relationship between themselves, with one wireless loudspeaker device becoming dominant. This relationship may be transferred without interrupting content delivery to the user.

An acoustic transducer comprising a substrate; and a diaphragm formed by depositing a micromachined membrane onto the substrate. The diaphragm is formed as a single silicon chip using a CMOS MEMS (microelectromechanical systems) semiconductor fabrication process. The curling of the diaphragm during fabrication is reduced by depositing the micromachined membrane for the diaphragm in a serpentine-spring configuration with alternating longer and shorter arms. As a microspeaker, the acoustic transducer of the present invention converts a digital audio input signal directly into a sound wave, resulting in a very high quality sound reproduction at a lower cost of production in comparison to conventional acoustic transducers. The micromachined diaphragm may also be used in microphone applications.
