摘要: A method and apparatus for detecting pipe entrenchment or upheaval of a flexible pipe and/or the presence of an external feature to the flexible pipe. The method includes helically winding a temperature sensing element around a layer of a flexible pipe, helically winding a heating element around a layer of a flexible pipe, heating the heating element to a pre-determined temperature, measuring the temperature at at least two locations along the flexible pipe, comparing the measured temperature response at the at least two locations, and making a determination, from the comparison of measured responses, regarding the exterior vicinity of the pipe at one of the at least two locations.

摘要: A wellhead assembly (100) comprises a wellhead apparatus (10) having a tubular body (16) defining an axial throughbore (18), a tubing hanger (12) for supporting downhole tubing (14) and associated downhole tools and equipment within the wellhead assembly (10), and more particularly orientating the tubing hanger (12) relative to a conductor (36). The well-head apparatus (10) comprises a tubing hanger alignment arrangement (32) which in the illustrated apparatus (10) takes the form of a helical profile provided in an axial throughbore (18) of the tubular body (16). The tubing hanger alignment arrangement (32) is configured to engage an alignment arrangement (34) of the tubing hanger (12) so as to orient the tubing hanger (12) relative to the wellhead apparatus (10) as the tubing hanger (12) is run into the tubular body (16).

摘要: A system is disclosed to enable compliance of a well insert sleeve using a guide sleeve that is associated with a wash-out hole, where the guide sleeve includes a pivot shoulder. The system includes providing the well insert sleeve with a top portion, a bottom portion, and a pivot surface, so that the pivot surface is in contact with a pivot shoulder. The top portion is at a top clearance from the guide sleeve and the bottom portion is at a bottom clearance from the guide sleeve. The features altogether enable the compliance, in an angular manner, for the well insert sleeve during assembly of well components thereon.

摘要: A method and apparatus for selective connection of a first fluid communication region to a further fluid communication region at a subsea location and a flexible pipe are disclosed. The apparatus comprises a valve body that includes a primary passageway extending from a first port of the valve body, and connectable to a first fluid communication region, to a further port of the valve body, connectable to a further fluid communication region, the valve body comprising a channel intersecting the primary passageway and extending between an open channel end and a closed channel end; at least one slidable member comprising a slidable body locatable in the channel and comprising a slidable member fluid passage extending through or around the slidable body; and at least one biasing element locatable proximate to at least one of the open channel end or closed channel end, for biasing the slidable body towards the open channel end; wherein the slidable member is slidable along a longitudinal axis of the channel responsive to a local environmental pressure provided at the open channel end.
