    Abstract: Different control information formats offer tradeoffs between performance for a UE and multiplexing capability for different UEs. In one aspect, a user equipment (UE) determines a first threshold to apply in selecting a format from a plurality of formats and uses the format for a first transmission of control information. The first threshold to apply in the selection of the format is determined from a set of possible values with the UE determining a first size of a first payload for the first transmission and selecting a first format for the first transmission of control information based on the first size and the first threshold. The threshold may be configurable by a base station and can reflect channel conditions prevailing at the UE and/or the need for a multiplexing capability associated with different formats.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described that provide for uplink channel multiplexing and waveform selection. Uplink channels to be transmitted from one or more user equipment (UEs) to a base station are multiplexed together or separately into an uplink subframe. Each UE is capable of using different waveforms to transmit different channels. Reference signals are communicated according to an RS pattern, which is symmetric across uplink and downlink channels.

    Abstract: Various aspects include a method and an apparatus for receiving a uplink (UL) short burst at an eNB, by determining, at the eNB, one or more tone assignments for one or more channels of the UL short burst, wherein the one or more channels of the UL short burst include a sounding reference signal (SRS), a demodulation reference signal (DMRS), a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH), or a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH), transmitting the one or more tone assignments to the UE, and receiving the UL short burst from the UE, wherein the UL short burst is generated at the UE based at least on the one or more tone assignments transmitted from the eNB. Methods may include transmitting a uplink (UL) short burst from a user equipment (UE).

    Abstract: Wireless communications systems and methods related to improve control reporting latency are provided. A wireless communication device receives, from a first link in a first time interval, first control information associated with a second link and the first time interval. The wireless communication device transmits, via the second link in the first time interval, a control report associated with the second link based on a report configuration that is independent from the first control information. The report configuration is associated with a waveform type. The wireless communication device receives, from the first link in a second time interval following the first time interval, second control information that is dependent on the control report. The report configuration includes a power headroom (PHR) report configuration. The PHR report configuration includes a reference PHR report configuration. The PHR report configuration includes a delayed PHR report configuration.
