Abstract: Techniques are described for wireless communication. A method for wireless communication at a base station includes identifying time resources and frequency resources for narrowband communication in a plurality of subframes, identifying a plurality of user equipment (UE) devices, allocating a first portion of the time resources and the frequency resources to an uplink (UL) channel to carry UL control information, and allocating resources of the UL channel to the identified UE devices. A method for wireless communication at a UE device includes identifying time resources and frequency resources for narrowband communication in a plurality of subframes, receiving an indication of at least a first portion of the time resources and the frequency resources allocated to a UL channel to carry UL control information for the UE device, and transmitting one or both of downlink acknowledgements (ACKs) and downlink non-acknowledgements (NAKs) on the UL channel.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to methods and apparatus relating to transmitting uplink control information (UCI) in a short duration. In certain aspects a method includes identifying resources, within an uplink short burst (ULSB) region within a transmission time interval (TTI), for transmitting at least a portion of uplink control information (UCI), the UCI including at least one of one scheduling request (SR) bit and one or more acknowledgment (ACK) bits for acknowledging or negatively acknowledging downlink transmissions. In certain aspects, the method also includes transmitting the UCI using the identified resources.

In some aspects, a user equipment determine that a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) communication, scheduled by an uplink grant, and a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) communication, corresponding to a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) communication scheduled by a downlink grant, are scheduled to overlap in one or more symbols; determine a threshold time based at least in part on an earliest scheduled starting time of the PUSCH communication or the PUCCH communication; selectively multiplex the PUSCH communication and the PUCCH communication based at least in part on whether the uplink grant, the downlink grant, and the PDSCH communication are received before the threshold time; and transmit the PUSCH communication, the PUCCH communication, or both the PUSCH communication and the PUCCH communication based at least in part on the selective multiplexing. Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for processing reference and data signals for uplink transmission. A method is provided for wireless communications. The method generally includes obtaining different sets of samples for at least one of: a data signal or a reference signal; spreading the different sets of samples for the at least one data signal or reference signal using separate discrete Fourier transform (DFT) processing blocks; interlacing the spreaded sets of samples by assigning the spreaded sets of samples from each of the separate DFT processing blocks to equally spaced tones; and transmitting the at least one data signal or reference signal on the assigned tones in an orthogonal frequency division multiplexed (OFDM) symbol.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems (e.g., new radio (NR) wireless communications systems), a base station may serve a large number of user equipment (UEs). The base station may allocate uplink control channel resources to the UEs using a limited number of bits by implementing explicit and implicit resource mapping. Explicit mapping may involve determining certain indicated resources based on a received set of bits, and implicit mapping may involve determining a resource indication from a characteristic of a transmission (e.g., a starting control channel element (CCE) for a downlink control information (DCI) transmission). A UE may determine an allocated uplink control channel resource for transmission based on the combination of the two types of indications. Additionally, the UE may implement one or more techniques for handling colliding resource allocations (e.g., acknowledgement (ACK), channel quality indicator (CQI), or scheduling request (SR) resource allocations).

In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may identify a transmit power control (TPC) command, associated with the UE, based at least in part on group power control downlink control information (DCI); and determine a loop index associated with the TPC command, wherein the loop index identifies a power control loop, of a plurality of power control loops, for the TPC command. In some aspects, the UE may apply the TPC in association with transmitting an uplink communication, wherein a time gap between receiving the group power control DCI and applying the TPC command is based at least in part on a capability value associated with the UE, or a delay value signaled to the UE. Abstract: A first apparatus may determine a demodulation reference signal (DMRS) sequence based on a mother sequence, map the DMRS sequence to at least a first symbol of a set of resource blocks (RBs) in a transmission, and send a DMRS including the mapped DMRS sequence in the at least one symbol of the set of RBs. A second apparatus may receive information associated with resource allocation, determine a granularity based on the information associated with resource allocation, determine resource allocation based at least in part on the granularity, and receive a signal carried on resources corresponding to the resource allocation.

Abstract: In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive downlink control information (DCI) that includes a timing value indicating a timing of an opportunity, subsequent to reception of the DCI, for transmission or reception of a communication corresponding to the DCI. The UE may determine an uplink opportunity or a downlink opportunity for transmission or reception of the communication based at least in part on the timing of the opportunity. A counter for determining the uplink opportunity may be incremented only for transmission time intervals (TTIs) in which the UE is allowed to transmit the communication in an uplink channel. A counter for determining the downlink opportunity may be incremented only for TTIs in which the UE can expect to receive the communication in a downlink channel. The UE may transmit or receive the communication in the uplink opportunity or the downlink opportunity. Other aspects are disclosed.

Abstract: Various aspects described herein relate to techniques for timing control with filtering in orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM)-based wireless communications systems. In an aspect, the method includes determining whether time-domain filtering or frequency-domain filtering is used for a transmission signal waveform, and identifying a time delay based on a determination that the time-domain filtering is used for the transmission signal waveform. The method further includes applying a timing correction based on the identified time delay. The techniques described herein may apply to different communications technologies, including 5th Generation (5G) New Radio (NR) communications technology.
