    Abstract: In various embodiments, methods that may be performed by a processor of a wireless device for managing beam failure recovery may include determining that a contention based random access (CBRA)-based beam failure recovery (BFR) procedure has been completed, determining whether a new candidate beam reference signal identifier was identified and included in a BFR media access control-control element (MAC-CE), updating beam information based on the new candidate beam reference signal identifier in response to determining that the new candidate beam reference signal identifier (RS ID) was identified and included in a BFR MAC-CE in a message to the base station, and updating the beam information based on a synchronization signal block selected during the CBRA-based BFR procedure in response to determining that the new candidate beam RS ID was not identified and included in the BFR MAC-CE in the message to the base station.

    Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may determine an average energy level radiated by the UE over a time period. The UE may determine whether the average energy level radiated by the UE over the time period exceeds a maximum permissible exposure (MPE) limit. The UE may transmit, to base station, a medium access control (MAC) control element (MAC-CE) that includes information related to a power management maximum power reduction (P-MPR) applied at the UE and/or an uplink duty cycle in effect at the UE based at least in part on the average energy level radiated by the UE over the time period exceeding the MPE limit. Numerous other aspects are provided.

    Abstract: The method of wireless communication may include a UE, a base station, and a core network including an AMF. The UE may initiate an update of the paging subgroup ID assigned to the UE by transmitting paging assistance information to the AMF. The paging assistance information may include an expected paging probability of the UE. The base station may initiate an update of the paging subgroup ID assigned to the UE based on the change of RRC connection between the UE and the base station. The core network including the AMF may transmit an updated paging subgroup ID to the UE. The core network including the AMF may configure a set of candidate subgroups associated with the UE, and the base station may update the paging subgroup ID of the UE based on releasing the RRC connection to the RRC inactive state.

    Abstract: A first user equipment (UE) that does not support cross-slot scheduling (CSS) and a second UE that supports the CSS may share a paging occasion (PO), and a base station that supports CSS may configure a set of variable K0 greater than zero to the second UE. The base station may page both the first UE and the second UE in the shared PO by transmitting a first paging message for the first UE in the shared PO with K=0, and transmitting a second paging message for the second UE transmitted in the subsequent PO. The first UE may receive a paging scheduling physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) with K0=0 in the shared PO and monitor consecutive POs subsequent to the shared PO to receive the paging message. The base station may also assign separate sets of POs to the CSS-capable UE and the CSS-incapable UE.
