Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for an on-board unit (OBU) associated with a vehicle to offload traffic to a handheld user equipment (UE) associated with the vehicle. The UE may receive an indication of time-frequency resources to use for transmitting one or more messages on behalf of the OBU, and may transmit the one or more messages to a network entity via the time-frequency resources. In some cases, a status of the OBU may indicate that the OBU is unable to meet requirements for communicating with the network entity, which may trigger the offloading. For example, the OBU may determine to offload the traffic based on identifying the status. Additionally, or alternatively, the network entity may indicate that the OBU is to offload the traffic after receiving a status report from the OBU.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A first user equipment (UE) may transmit a request for a base station to establish a wireless communication link between the first UE and a second UE via an assisting device (AD) associated with an assisting node (AN). The first UE may receive first control signaling from the base station including an indication for the first UE to perform a directional learning procedure with the AN in response to the request, and may transmit an uplink message including an indication of a completion of the directional learning procedure. The first UE may receive second control signaling from the base station indicating a set of resources for performing a link configuration procedure between the first UE and the second UE, and may communicate with the second UE via the AD of the AN based on the second control signaling.

A communication device supports sidelink communications, including device-to-device (D2D) communications and vehicle-based communications. The communication device receives, from another device, a discontinuous transmission (DTX) configuration for a sidelink connection between the communications device and the other device. Based on the received DTX configuration, the communications device determines a discontinuous reception (DRX) configuration and transmit, to the other device, the determined DRX configuration. Abstract: Aspects relate cross-pool resource reservations of resources for sidelink-positioning reference signals (SL-PRS). A wireless communication device can transmit a first SL-PRS resource reservation message within resources in a SL communication resource pool. The first SL-PRS resource reservation message may identify a first SL-PRS resource within a SL-PRS resource pool. The wireless communication device can also transmit a first SL-PRS in the first SL-PRS resource within the SL-PRS resource pool. The wireless communication device can also receive a second SL-PRS resource reservation message within resources in the SL communication resource pool. The second SL-PRS resource reservation message may identify a second SL-PRS resource within the SL-PRS resource pool. The wireless communication device may then receive a second SL-PRS in second SL-PRS resource within the SL-PRS resource pool. The SL communication resource pool may be different from the SL-PRS resource pool.

Abstract: A sidelink user equipment (UE) limits sensing of received sidelink communications during a sensing window. The UE selects resources for a future transmission from a resource pool that is based on the sensed received sidelink communications. The UE also sends the future transmission on the selected resources. Limiting sensing may result from reducing a maximum distance between reservations to less than 32 logical slots. Limiting sensing may be sensing with a reduced sensing duty cycle with discontinuous sensing or sensing for a period of time in response to a trigger. The UE may perform partial sensing for periodic traffic, and limit sensing for aperiodic traffic.

Abstract: A configuration to allow a wireless device having one or more TRPs to configure the one or more TRPs based on configurations of other wireless devices. The apparatus detects a second wireless device in a vicinity of a first wireless device. The apparatus determines a duplex configuration of the second wireless device. The apparatus enables a duplex configuration of the first wireless device to correspond with the duplex configuration of the second wireless device. The apparatus communicates with the second wireless device based on the duplex configuration.

The UE may then communicate based on the preconfigured modulation and coding scheme table.
