    Abstract: Some techniques and apparatuses described herein provide radio frequency (RF) beamforming using a cylindrical lens for implementing phased array beamforming in one direction and lensed beamforming in a second direction. In one example, an apparatus for wireless communication may include a cylindrical lens having a first surface and a second surface opposite to the first surface. In some cases, the cylindrical lens may include a power direction that corresponds to a curvature of the first surface and a non-power direction that is orthogonal to the power direction. In some aspects, the apparatus can include a plurality of linear antenna arrays disposed proximate to the second surface of the cylindrical lens, wherein each linear antenna array of the plurality of linear antenna arrays includes a plurality of antenna array elements.

In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive an indication that tone reservation is to be applied, to a subsequent communication, including applying rate matching on a first set of tone reservation (TR) subcarriers and applying puncturing on a second set of the TR subcarriers. The UE may receive the subsequent communication based at least in part on rate matching being applied to the first set of the TR subcarriers and puncturing being applied to the second set of the TR subcarriers.     Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive an indication that tone reservation is to be applied to one or more subcarriers for one or more downlink communications. The UE may transmit one or more uplink signals, using the one or more subcarriers, for measurement by a base station. The UE may receive the one or more downlink communications having the tone reservation applied to the one or more subcarriers, the one or more subcarriers having tone reservation applied based at least in part on the measurement of the one or more uplink signals on the one or more subcarriers.
